A friend shared this with me.

Notice the annual or monthly options for BlueCruise. And also, Ford is watching the market to see our feedback. So, what do you think?

I'm very confused about subscription charges for Blue Cruise. I picked up my 2023 MME - GT about 3 weeks ago. I believe the dealer told me Blue Cruise 360 was included, he never mentioned anything about a 3-year subscription. On the sticker it shows Blue Cruise 360 as a feature. I'm just wondering if I'm going to be hit with the subscription charge after a 90-day or 3-year trial. I do enjoy the hands-free feature but do not think it's worth $800 a year.
Anyone else's take on Blue Cruise subscription fees or not on recently purchased MMEs?

I drive from Bakersfield to LA all of the time. It is roughly 100 miles. I had blue cruise for 2 years on my 21 MME FE and now on my 23 MME GT. I think it is a complete piece of crap. The reason is simple. I love the adaptive cruise as it slows down and speeds up automatically. Blue cruise drives me nuts with beeping constantly. I ALWAYS keep at least one hand on the wheel because blue cruise turns on and off regularly. Also I what else are you going to do with your hands anyway. Going over mountains on I-5 it cuts on and off regularly. At least with adaptive cruise it does the EXACT same thing. It also says HEY KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE ROAD which is fine. But the INCESSANT beeping is nuts. My daughter begs me to turn it off. My eyes are ALWAYS in the road and I ALWAYS have my hands on the wheel but many times it goes crazy in turns because people naturally move their head with the turn. PLEASE LET ME HAVE CRUISE AND NO BC. So not worth it. What would you do with your hands anyway????

I refuse to use it for free, why would I pay to use it?

The BlueCruise hardware and a 3 year subscription was included in your purchase price. That hasn't changed.

So, take $800USD, add the Ford Canada Tax, and it's going to be, what, $1200CAD (then add Canadian tax). So, uh, no way, no how. Ain't gonna happen. I got a three-year trial so we'll see what they want to charge in Dec 2025. I feel for you 2023 folks.

That's not a trial. You paid for the hardware AND a 3 year subscription. The difference is that it was part of the purchase price of your car. Now they've broken it out.

Man, I read this, and it gives me the willies about holding Ford stock. If this is the sort of future revenue ideas they are making projections on, I have little faith it will go as they planned!

Let's be honest, some days even owning this car feels like a trial.

They're really attempting to shift entirely to Tesla's sales model. Full Self Driving (FSD) for the lifetime of the car is a ridiculous $15k. A monthly subscription, last I checked was $199. 75 months in at $199/mo would put the monthly subscription cost at $15k.

The more comparable Tesla offering to BlueCruise is Enhanced Autopilot (EAP), which is $6k up front for the life of the car. There is no monthly subscription subscription for EAP; however, if we assume the same 75 months of a monthly subscription to match the up front cost, that would put it at $80 a month. Ford is offering BC1.2 at $75/month.

I’d give them BC1.1 back for the $600 I paid for it any day. What’s your refund policy, @Ford Motor Company?

Nope, it's definitely listed as a trial on my account. Canada is run indepdantly from the US so the way things end up in the deal are different.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Would you pay $75/month or $800/year for BlueCruise hands free highway driving? This will be option for 2023 Mach-E 1683295582438

What I'm more concerned about is that the Built-In Navigation App is also a trial and up here the preconditioning is kind of necessary. That's one I probably can't not buy which is going to suck.

I wonder if you'll be able to turn it on and off as a monthly subscription? So just use it for long trips? That might not be too bad of an option.

I'll be a contrarian. My "trial" expiration date is 12/21/2023 and I'll likely extend it for as long as I plan to own the car. Now, if only Ford would let me switch the Alexa Trial over and use that as credit to extend my BlueCruise trial :D
