A nearby dealer just got a bunch of used Mach Es in. There's about 8, all 2021s. The Mach E premiums are between $36k-40K.

I currently have a 22 Select RWD with the comfort and tech package. It has 4K miles. (Built 10/22)

I'm considering trading my Select in for one of the Premiums. Is this stupid? The eAWD and extended range battery are very appealing, as well as the (maybe) slightly better ride quality.

I'm aware of the HVBC issue. What else would I be giving up going back a year? Also is there any way to check the battery health on a used EV?

Thanks in advance.

The 2021 Premium and loaded GT Mach-Es are I believe the most feature rich, and the job 2s avoided some of the problems of the job 1s - for me, most notably, the high pitched noise from the driver display (I think starting with job 2 of the 2021 year, it was much improved with a different display).

I think after 2021, the Premiums (and GTs?) lost the acoustic laminated side glass in the front, the kick to release liftgate, and I think the park assist too?

Anyway, if you do get a 2021, I'd definitely try and get one that is job 2, I think the switch happened sometime in July 2021 - so one built after that date.

I got a 2021 Job 2 Premium. Has the kick rear power hatch and the auto park that I never use, but it is there. From 2022 onwards, they removed features. If you can get all the modules updated as a condition of purchase that would make for the best deal.

Good to know, thank you.

Good idea, it looks like they're all behind on the updates based on the pictures.

Just get the VIN from the model you want and ask on the forum here for a list. It might be quite extensive.

I like this one. They all seem to be job 1 except one GT.

It's interesting, the 2021 GT has a way higher VIN number than my 22 Select. Mine was built an entire year later. Weird.

The select probably has better ride quality because of 18in wheels

Yea that would make sense. But my friend has an eAWD Select and said the ride is fine. I was thinking the weight might have something to do with it.

I have a job1 2021 premium and it's been great! I haven't had any of the issues listed above. I use the kick to open tailgate a lot, but never use the park assist. Maybe if I was in an area that had more parallel parking I'd use it. My kids complain about the stiff ride occasionally, but it doesn't bother me. I didn't order extended range because I didn't want to carry around that extra weight for the once or twice a year I might actually use it....same with AWD (we don't get snow).
Not sure trading in a '22 select for a '21 premium would be worth it to me....and I'd probably get into trouble with the GT. But your situation is likely different.

Do you have the frunk button in the car and FordPass?

That is a really early build. The wife's 21 vin is in the 6000s and was delivered Feb21. Pretty cool having an early vin from a Mustang perspective.. Have a cousin who has a early 64/65 that his family still owns.
