This TSB has been superseded by TSB 23-2155.

This is the long-awaited TSB to fix coaxial cable issues causing Front Camera Fault Service Required messages. The TSB directs replacement of the camera coax cable first above the headliner, and if that doesn't work then it continues down the A pillar and floor back to the IPMA in the trunk area. You are more likely to have this issue if your vehicle had the windshield or glass roof recall performed, since this cable was likely disturbed and may have been damaged by careless handling during reassembly. The coax cable is fragile and cannot be bent sharply (gentle turns only) or it will fail.

Ford
2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E

Issue: Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit various driver assistance system warning messages or inoperative features and/or Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) U3000:49 stored in the Image Processing Module A (IPMA) that will not clear and not stored in the vehicle's history. DTC C1001:31 and/or U3000:89 may be stored in the IPMA, but may have recently been cleared and stored in the vehicle's history. This may be due to a connection issue between the IPMA Camera and the IPMA. To correct the condition, perform the following service procedure to repair the connection and reset the IPMA.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

• 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E
• IPMA has DTC U3000:49 present
• At least one of the following concerns:
- Front Camera Fault Service Required message
- Pre-collision assist inoperative
- Adaptive cruise control inoperative
- Front windshield camera alignment routine fails to complete
Service Procedure

See attached PDF.

The TSB doesn't mention this, but the first step should be to pop off the cover above the rear mirror and confirm cable routing does not put strain on the connector. Correcting the cable routing here alone may be enough to fix the issue without needing coax replacement. You can easily pop the cover off and check yourself to possibly save a dealer trip. If your cable is routing is correct and you still have the issue, bring it to the dealer and mention this TSB.

This makes sense why this code would come up whenever someone hit a bump. I'm wondering why these coax cables are so delicate? I've watched the cable guy run over coax and make figure 8s out of it lol.

Good thing this came out just after my warranty expired...

I've been dealing with this issue intermittently for over a year, and pre-collision assist became completely disabled on Friday. What timing!

Scheduled an appt today for this issue but when I mentioned this TSB the service guy said Ford actually put this on hold. I ended up still scheduling the appt because I've had the errors now constantly for weeks and I have some trips in June coming up for which I'd like to be able to use adaptive cc so hoping they still manage to fix it. Has anyone else heard the same or is the dealer I am using off their rocker?

It is not on hold, just checked. Parts may be needed, but they need to look at it first.

I was having the front camera failure almost every day.
I took my car to the dealership 3 times and they couldn’t find the problem.
I pulled down the plastic cover over the rear view mirror and the coaxial cable was folded over the roof bow trim edge .
After re routing the cable the warning light hasn’t come on since!
Thanks for the thread!

Good job, another person that fixed it themselves without any parts required.

Checked my cable and it is correct. I have many messages this month, guess I need to go to the dealer.

I had that recall done about 18 months ago, and that seems to be when I started getting these intermittent messages. My car will go for weeks or months without getting them, then suddenly they will occur almost every day.
