But yes, adding a key card would be nice, it would be used by my wife for example. So yes to more options, but no to removing options
I would be 100% on board with team WAAK.

Ditch it yes... Start charging for it no, and there's no indication of that at all in the survey.

It's a pain point for them and likely causes more grief and support inquiries than any other feature on the car.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ditched it because they can't reliably figure it out.

As for going to car key, they don't have the hardware for that and hopefully that never happens. Let's not be reliant on more 3rd party providers. Apple car key has had many issues preventing it from working and randomly stranding drivers.

The purse/wallet question makes me think they might go to key cards, which I would welcome as a backup.
I’m surprised you’d support keycards. Most of those are pretty insecure

I specifically mentioned that I dont carry anything else beside my phone, gym, hiking, adventures with kids, lots of time I just bring phone, I dont need crap in my pockets.
I did that as well. I despise carrying excess crap. I love not carrying the fob and, if my stupid state would get out of the 17th century (I swear our drivers licenses are still illuminated manuscripts with the wax seal of the monarch on them) and issue digital IDs, I could stop carrying my wallet too!

The path forward for PAAK should be to switch to using ultra wideband technology instead of Bluetooth. That will fix most of the reliability issues. Not switch to key card.
Doesn’t UWB require very close (< 50 cm) proximity or physical contact?

If you get this, and there is an option (question, suggestion, input section) please tell them to implement Apple Car Key and whatever Android's equivalent is.

Honestly, I'm wondering if the question about discontinuing PaaK might be an incomplete concept. Maybe they're talking about discontinuing PaaK in favor of changing to Apple Car Key/Android's Digital Car Key.
Apple Car Key has issues and limitations.

That's not necessarily true if it's done correctly. TID can be used in RFID implementations to require both the chip serial number along with transmitted identification. You can also do what credit card companies do and increment ID at each use. Therefore if it's copied that ID would be the previously used ID and fail verification.

I don't think key cards are the future. But I would support those over a bulky fob as a backup, not as a primary key source. Right now many PaaK users stash their fob somewhere on the car as a backup which is less secure.

I do believe the future of car keys is UWB, but I don't think Ford is entertaining that at all right now.

They should just make it like a contactless credit card reader. Works every time I go to the store. Just open my phone and hold it up to the reader. Much more reliable than what Ford has currently.

That or figure out why Tesla's system is so much more reliable. I'm not a programmer, but it doesn't seems like this would be hard to get right.

I have no interest in having to remove my phone from my pocket. NFC is not the answer. The future lies with UWB.

I won't buy a car without PaaK after experiencing it.

If Apple used Ford’s approach to product feature development, the iPhone would have been killed after the first generation. “It’s so hard to make stuff work on such a constrained device. Web apps don’t work fast enough. Let’s just kill the entire thing and go back to what we know how to do: iPods.” ?

Yeah, Paak is hard. But kill it? I mean WTLF?
