Does it come with anything specific to the MachE?

Reason I ask is Thinkware now has a U3000 that I would rather install.

We're getting a U3000 from Thinkware to review. I'll let you know how it goes.

I have a thinkware U1000 installed and I don’t like it. I realize that wasn’t your question, but just thought I’d drop my experience.
As far as equipment goes, there is nothing “special” for the Mach E. It’s just like for any other car.

No, the camera is approved for use in the Mach E. Not sure what makes the difference but the other Thinkware I was looking at wasn’t approved for the Mach E. I don’t care for the video quality, but the worst part is trying to get videos from the camera. I bought this one because some other members liked it but I can’t connect the camera to my iPhone AND use wireless CarPlay. That’s the reason I got rid of my other camera. So I use my work phone, which is android, but it’s still a pain. The only reason I still have it in the car is because it’s hardwired and I couldn’t get a refund anyway. I put in the new Ring dash cam and like it. So now the Thinkware is an extra backup in case I need footage.

Understand.

I’m a tech guy so that wouldn’t be an issue for me. iPhone WiFi can only connect to one access point at a time. If you turn the car off, you would not have any issues connecting to the camera to download content. And as you point out, a passenger could download while driving with wireless CarPlay active.
