Last 8 months the range steadily went up from factory reset (of around 235/90% I think) to 290ish/90%, and this morning when I was taking the car out, I got a shock looking at the range, while it said it has reached target setting for charging. Does anyone have any idea what happened here?
I am the only one driving this so far, and yesterday no other button was touched (like factor reset etc) in case you were wondering/ going to suggest that.

Ford’s been messing with the GOM. Reset your driving history, and you’ll see a number you like better.

If it's not GOM shenanigans, check under your car for an electron leak. They're a nightmare on concrete.

It's probably GOM shenanigans, though. It may have set your profile to guest.

I lost 100 Miles while on a trip last week after an Update on PAAK! To this day the Milage & % used DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENCE! I have a n appointment to have FORD look at on 7/10. Its not me - I drive like a Grandma - Have had near 400 miles on a full charge once. Good weather & SLOW driving - My norm is about 350 on my Ex

It would make sense if you got an OTA that updated your powertrain modules. That always resets the estimated range, (on ICE vehicles as well).

Ugh, yeah I once spilled blinker fluid all over the garage floor, took 3 days to get it all up.

why are people insanely obsessed with this topic. you can put a post-it and write 999 on it if you'd like. what's the point? are you actually planning to drive the range today?
It’s like some of us have never owned a gas car before. I could fill up my truck and it would say I have 415 miles range. I drive up to the mountains… I fill up, now it says I have 380 miles range. I drive back home, down hill, fill up, now I have 425 miles range. Not once did I freak out or complain on a forum. ???

The catalytic converter thieves have switched to batteries. They removed swapped your ER for an SR.

I was seeing 43% charge w/ 68-mile range w/an Ex-Model. after the update. NO WAY this is right. After I drove 62 miles home - I still had 40 miles showing at 39%. NOT right. Well see what they say on the 10th when I take it to Ford. Have had many updates on this (2021) Never this much of an issue - Hope it is something easy :)

I’m going to say this as well (though it’s already been said).

Yesterday the dash predicted 290 miles of range with a 90% battery. Had you taken the car on a drive you would have realized a range of X. X being your efficiency (as dictated by the weather and your driving behavior) times your number of kilowatts available.

Today, your dash predicted 235 miles of range with a 90% battery. Had you taken the car on a drive you would have realized a range of X. X being your efficiency (as dictated by the weather and your driving behavior) times your number of kilowatts available.

Your display is a guess as to how far the computer thinks you might be able to go based on computer models and past behaviors of whomever was driving. It’s as accurate as hurricane forecasts. Resetting the information tells it to ignore everything it has learned and go back to blind prognostication. But the truth is, no matter what the days says, the real range is determined by you. If the car says 160 miles of range and I drive it gently in hood weather, I can get more miles. If I drive aggressively, at high speeds, in cold weather, I will get less miles. The range of the car didn’t change one bit.
