wish they would improve the braking curve. braking on regen and blue cruise braking are terrible. especially on the freeway when the traffic suddenly comes to a halt, blue cruise brake feels like emergency braking. and with manual braking on regen its hard to come to a smooth stop. if i shift into neutral, then yea the brake is smooth af.
Agree 100%.

My '23 MME BC 1.2 is very good on open freeways but come traffic - it's harsh.

For long distance driving on road trips, it's invaluable.

Will see how 1.3 does and if it's worth paying for the subscription in 2026.....

Hopefully this is rolling out soon. Every single 2023 my local dealer has "in transit" lists Bluecruise 1.3 on the window sticker.

great - I will be able to BlueCruise through interstate turns and lane changes. But the bigger issue issue the bad math in the annual subscription fee.

$66/month for the BC subscription is more than many owners spend on the KWh to operate the entire vehicle for a month. It's ten-times the monthly Sirius subscription which works on every road everywhere and many folks don't use/pay for that feature.

Don't get me wrong - I like using BC, I just think there is delusions of grandeur in the price modeling department.

This part right here. I hope Ford is listening! This is really important.
The ONLY thing that will get their attention is a zero take rate next summer when the 2021 Job 2 cars start coming up for renewal. Until that happens then FoMoCo will not fix the pricing for renewals.

Nothing is as persuasive as the almighty dollar

Big issue with features is people's misunderstanding of how they work, and their unrealistic expectations.
But the adaptive cruise portion, which is the same regardless of hands off BC, hands on, lane centering off, etc. is really wonky. My wife's older VW has adaptive cruise and when it comes to a stop it is very smooth. Same in other cars with adaptive cruise that I've driven, all older than the MME, too.

The MME is just so clunky. I never really end up in stop and go traffic, thankfully, but did over the weekend and it was really, really bad. Not the late braking or anything, that's the same on all adaptive cruise cars I've been in, its when it comes to the full stop waiting for traffic to resume, its very aggressive and always rocks back. Even more aggressive than normal 1PD braking that has the slight rock when you stop. It is super annoying when it stops then 2 seconds later scoots at 5 mph, then stops again, you're constantly being rocked. Other cars gently stop, gently accelerate and repeat.

Adaptive Cruise and BlueCruise are actually quite good in stop and go traffic. Put it in whisper mode and smooth all that stuff out.

But when suddenly coming onto stopped traffic, yes, it sucks. I do not like that I have to do a workaround to avoid the emergency braking and that isn't something that I think people should apologize on behalf of Ford for when that seems like something software could fix. How far out is the Mach-e radar?

Then not sure what's up with mine. I was in hands-free BC this weekend and stop and go was really bad. I mean coming to a full stop, not 1mph or 2mph. When the friction brakes grab on, it just rocks so much. And it was constant inch forward, stop, inch forward, stop. I ended up just driving myself (ain't that some first world problems), but it can definitely be improved.

Everyone complaining about Bluecruise braking too hard must have more pleasant commutes than me. I feel like I have cars jutting in front off me all the time as it is.

Depends on your distance set, but this is coming up on stop and go traffic, at least my points. Not just normal use of BC.

Our team at Ford is continuing to improve BlueCruise to make hands-free highway driving even better for you. We have a pleasant surprise for our Mustang Mach-E customers. We are delivering our latest software version of BlueCruise – BlueCruise 1.3 – even faster than anticipated.
  • BlueCruise 1.2: Includes Lane Change Assist allowing you to change lanes by tapping the turn signal and once the path is clear and In-Lane Repositioning which helps keep the vehicle in its lane while subtly shifting position away from vehicles in adjacent lanes
  • BlueCruise 1.3: Building on the previous version with all of the features of BlueCruise 1.2, it will help you stay engaged in hands-free mode longer including around curves and narrow lanes.
Mustang Mach-E customers with model years 2021-2023 equipped with BlueCruise can receive the update to BlueCruise 1.3 via a Ford Power-Up software update once it starts to roll out to vehicles later this summer. This means that vehicles with BlueCruise 1.0 and 1.2 will be updated to BlueCruise 1.3. Note, Ford Power-Up software updates are not deployed to all vehicles at the same time and this update will happen in waves.

To ensure you get this update and all the other latest and greatest software updates to your vehicle, make sure you:
  1. Turn ON Automatic Software Updates – this keeps updates coming as they roll out
  2. Set a recurring schedule –choose what is most convenient so you never miss a software update
For Mustang Mach-E customers who placed an order after May 2, 2023, or the vehicle was produced after June 30, 2023, your new electric pony will be delivered from the factory with BlueCruise 1.3.

Cheers to the next version of hands-free highway driving rolling out!
I haven’t even gotten 1.2 yet and there’s an update on my car for 4.2.6 that won’t allow me to update.
