That would only be for Job 2 '23 that recently switched over.

Since the price savings are significant without BC (and without charge cord) on Job 2 - I don't think people will go an buy the BC subscription when they start out with a trial period...

Even some of the Job 1 Selects got extended BC trial - wonder if Ford will do the same for Job 2 ??
The only reason that 2021 Job 1 cars got an extension to BC trial was because they didn't get BC until 6 or more months after it was expected. It made sense for Ford to extend their trial to include BC 1.3, otherwise they wouldn't be able to experience it before their trial ended. Given that everyone else will get BC 1.3 during their trial, there would be no reason for an extension.

I hope Ford is watching this discussion. There is a 0% probability I would pay these prices for the blue cruise service, even if you were to substantially improve it from the unreliable, spotty and altogether unimpressive service it is today.

My personal favorite feature is the one that pops up regularly driving on the 401 in Ontario.. cruising along at highway speed the car detects a speed reduction on the off ramp, and decides to suddenly apply that to my car which is not on the off ramp.

Nice surprise for the people driving behind me wondering why I am suddenly slowing down to 30 miles an hour on the highway. It's bad enough the Blue Cruise disengages randomly requiring me to put my hands back on the wheel, this forces me to disengage it entirely to override the brakes.

The service has a long way to go to convince me to pay anything for it, let alone these ridiculous prices. Sorry guys, I love my car in every other respect, but you seem to have quite a bit of work yet to do.

Then you're turning off the wrong thing. Doesn't impact it for anyone else.

https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...onthly-or-annual-activation.29889/post-677506
From my manual, page 231.

INTELLIGENT ADAPTIVE CRUISE
CONTROL REQUIREMENTS
Traffic sign recognition must be enabled
for intelligent adaptive cruise control to be
active.

Perhaps you mean I can use blue cruise without having adaptive cruise control. Haven't tried that, but that would be stupid. Then if BC bails, I'd run right into the first slow truck.

But I can tell you, it's one simple switch, off - doesn't work. On does.

Ford needs to take a basic economic class so they will know - The equilibrium price is the only price where the plans of consumers and the plans of producers agree—that is, where the amount consumers want to buy of the product, quantity demanded, is equal to the amount producers want to sell, quantity supplied. This common quantity is called the equilibrium quantity. At any other price, the quantity demanded does not equal the quantity supplied, so the market is not in equilibrium at that price.
Equilibriam is supply = demand. When demand is > supply - price rises. The opposite is - supply > demand price will fall. Just what we had with MME. Demand>supply. Dealers added ADM, ford raised price etc. Now we are getting to a point supply>demand. No ADMs, ford lowered price, slowed production etc. Ford can keep lowering price (ie Tesla) until equilibriam is met.
Ford is already losing money on every EV sold. Lowering price will increase demand, however, it will also increase your losses. Equilibrium price is set by consumer not supplier. (There is much more into pricing than just equilibriam)

When BC expires will I still be able to drive Hands Free for a short duration until I touch the steering wheel? - the way it was when I first got my 21 Mach-E First Edition. BC is not available on most of the roads I drive.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control is just normal Adaptive Cruise Control with the addition of changing the speed setting automatically when the speed limit changes. It will be normal Adaptive Cruise Control if you turn off speed sign recognition, and Hand-Free BlueCruise will still work. That's the way I use it.

Even if BC worked on most roads I drive (it works on basically none), it wouldn’t be worth it to me at what they’re pricing it at.

Yup.

Just turned off sign recognition, and BC still worked.

I bet the take rate on people paying $800/yr rounds to zero.

Quite a few may check the box at initial purchase, but after the fact? Nada.

I paid more than that on my 2021, but was more for the 360 cameras and other features than Bluecruise. Now that that other stuff is “free,” hands free driving is actually the least desirable feature on the list to me, so I definitely won’t pay top dollar for it.
There are a few here on this forum that I think are either trolls or shills for Ford (just so they can run out and say there has been "positive reception" to the pricing) that are tripping over themselves to pay $800/yr.

I like the feature (it isn't a SERVICE) on my daily commute, but until they roll out BC 1.3 to me and see if it sufficiently corrects the annoyances of 1.0 before I deem it even to be worthy of $5-10/mo.

Personally I think any payment should only be linked to non-safety related updates (ie, map expansion, new features) and that whatever is installed on your vehicle remains turned on at the end of the "subscription" period. I have paid for the hardware and software that has been installed in the vehicle and should be able to continue to use it.
