Three weeks ago, I took my 2021 MME AWD to the dealer for its 30k service. They performed the 22P31 CSP and as a result, the parking brakes locked up. To try to remedy that, other things were done but without success. Now I'm told that they need to replace some parking brake part on each wheel (I don't remember what it's called). I guess the parts differ by side because they have the part for one side but not the other. I've spoken with the service director and GM at the dealer, and also a customer service person at Ford. The Ford guy called me today to say, in the most positive and pleasant manner, that the part is unavailable from the parts supplier and that there is no timetable for when they might have it.
What are my options? What is realistically possible without going the legal route? I really love the car and I've had no problems up until this, but of what use is an undriveable car? Would Ford replace it? Would Ford buy it back? Any suggestions?
