There's been enough chatter scattered throughout other threads on this, I figured we might as well have a dedicated thread to discuss it. I always appreciate having a thread I know I can go to for updates and news on a specific issue.

As far as I can tell it's specifically 2021 Job 1 vehicles that have started the BC update process, but stopped at 6.1.0. Is there anyone else in the affected group? Or is this pretty much it? Curious who else is in this boat

I'm hoping that we get caught up fast enough to have time to evaluate 1.3 before our BC trial is up.
Just got 6.1.0 today on my 2021 job 1 AWD Premium MME. About 2 days ago I also got the one that mentioned preconditioning when navigating to a charger.

I find that Ford does these updates in batches, and depending on what batch your in, you may go months with absolutely no updates, then suddenly you get 4 or 5 updates in the span of a week or two. Not sure why they do it this way, but I feel it leads to allot of folks who feel they are "stuck", and their car has "issues" while other batches are getting a bunch of updates ahead of you. I felt this way as well, but have come to realize it's just the way Fors does things.

yeah batches with no apparent order of any sort. I did call that number a couple of posts up and they told me my VIn was already showing the battery interface recall.

2021, Job 2. I am at 5.1.1 (since 9/29) which seems to have killed connectivity - so no way to get OTA updates. Ford, o Ford, where hast thou gone?

Yes, you're confused. If you have a Job 2, $600 for 3 years of BlueCruise was included in the price of your car. Job 1 owners never got that opportunity, which is why it is still being offered.
True, but Job 2 people are still getting hosed.

Our renewal price is the same as people who got the 360 camera hardware for free. We paid $1900 for the hardware.

Anyone who paid for the hardware should get a discount on the software renewal.

For 21J1s are all updates available in FDRS? Has anyone successfully applied the updates to be at par with 6.4.0?
I don't think this has been confirmed yet. I haven't seen any 21 J1 cars get past the APIM since the OTA stopped, and none of the VIN's I monitor have done them manually. Its possible the TCU has not been released in FDRS yet but cannot confirm.

So any advice on how to get it moving past 5.1.1? Can the dealer force it to get moving?
Have patience. Lots of folks aren’t at 6.1.0 yet.

Does any auto manufacturer let you update on demand as in smart phones or computers, or do they all drip feed updates?

My Job 1 2021 Premium AWD Mache just received 5.1.1 this morning. If 6.1.0 breaks connected services, how are we supposed to get updated OTA updates? Should I turn off automatic updates to prevent connected services getting broken?

Nope. Ford has stopped the rollout on 21s for now. No need for you to do anything.

It was 5.1.1 that turned CS off for me. The missing menu bug is still there since I got 6.1.0, but based on what I see on FP and ford.com, my connected services are still on.
