I typically get OTAs a few weeks after I see folks start mentioning getting them here. Fairly painless. 2022 CA Route 1.

However, most recently (a couple weeks ago) I got a message I’d never seen before. It said the update was “Not Completed” and has a version number different that what I see in the Ford app. I’ve attached photo of car update screen. Anyone know if this means it is stuck? Or if I just need to wait.

Unsure if related but I am also getting drive mode unavailable errors more often than before. I’ll be in unbridled and then I’ll see the dash display change from orange to blue with different layout and my deceleration will drastically change. I can’t change drive mode back to unbridled (or whisper) and said drive mode unavailable. Usually resolves in a minute or two or after Sync reboot (forward plus vol down). This issue has occurred for a very long time but went from once every 4-6 weeks to three times in past week.

Welcome any thoughts on either topic.

If the update didn't actually complete...I do get that sometimes when (I assume) the MME has not yet connected to Ford servers to refresh the status of the update. If I wait for a bit and check later, it will update that screen and show the correct status.

I had 6.1.0 showing not complete for 2 weeks then all of a sudden it completed. I read a post and did this and the next day it completed. I charged to 100%, put the emergency brake on, and shut the lights off. it was claimed in here that helps. Not sure that did it but after doing that it completed next day.

Thanks for the replies. I’ll wait patiently and keep driving and charging as usual (will try couple times to 100% instead of usual 90%).

It's not the high-voltage battery that needs to be charged... it's the 12v. That is normally automatically maintained either as you drive or when you plug in to charge the car. The caveat is ... the car doesn't just gratuitously charge that battery. It waits for the voltage to be low enough for the car to decide it needs to charge the 12v. But if the 12v is low ... it wont apply an update.

This may be a low charge on the 12 volt battery problem. Past advice was to go for a 20 mile(?) drive to recharge it.

Thanks for the thoughts. I drive 40-60 minutes ever day so expect it isn't the 12V being not charged unless it has some other issue. I also checked it with my cigarette plug battery checker and reads good (I was worried about 12V issue so got one some time ago, the Innova brand other threds mentioned).

A prior post in this thread mentioned charging to 100% helping sort their similar issue. Still no luck but welcome any other thoughts.

Closing the loop:

Mach-Lee and I DM’d on the topic and his suggestion of pulling any USB devices out seemed to do the trick.

Now, the only USB device I had was a USB-C charging cable, but I pulled it last night on his suggestion and install completed today.

Kudos to everyone for the suggestions and frankly the most civil car forum I’ve seen.

Mine has done the same thing on the last two updates (after all previous updates having no issues). Both eventually completed after about 2-3 weeks. I didn't do anything in regards to USB devices, the car just finally decided to get around to doing its job, I guess...
