Power-Up 6.1.0 OTA Update

Has anybody noticed any issues with this update?

The log shows I've got it on Oct 10th. Two issues with charging so far.

First, my car stopped charging last night because it triggered the current protector. That never happened for the last year. That was a recurring problem two years ago but then some update fix that.

Second, Ford Pass doesn't show charging anymore and associated with that buttons. It now says "Vehicle location is disabled." Then there is a "!" message saying "Please update in-vehicle setting to enable connectivity." Following the specified steps, going to "Connectivity | Connected Vehicle Features" and that menu item is empty. Clicking on arrow shows wait icon for a second and then returns to the original state.

Known bugs, keep checking the menu as it will intermittently work. When it does you will find to your connected settings turned off. Turn them back on.

Took 6.1.0 ... seeing a lot of phone connectivity issues since.

2021 MME Job 1 RWD ER enrolled in EA. I assume FDRS installed PowerUp 5.1.1 in August. PowerUP 6.1.0 arrived on October 10.

I noticed that 6.1.0 for the Lightning mentions a BlueCruise map update and my car got one as well. The GWM on the Lightning must have the application for Intelligent Backup Power, not present on the Mach-E. The GWM is the module containing multiple vehicle applications.

I take it Ford does not have software specialists at dealerships who can deal with issues. That may be the issue that would keep me from buying an MME or Lyriq. My five year old RAV4 - five service appts - change oil.

That is true, and a mark against Toyota. On the other hand it has never suffered any software failure.

Randomly driving and then drive mode changed on me. Saw drive mode unavailable on screen. Car launched off all of the sudden and almost rear ending a car. It went from unbridled where it was auto slowing down for a red light to sustained speeds of whisper.
Afterwards I could not select a drive mode and the modes were black.

That’s happened to me 3 times since getting this update. In 2 years and 8 months I never saw “Drive mode unavailable” once. Now 3 times in just a few days.

Same for me. Haven't had any troubles with updates so far and this is the first time I am seeing something like this. Perhaps they will push it again at the end for all us that had issues with a previous try.

My car was stuck like this as well.

I have the needed FDRS equipment so today I applied the GWM update that is 6.1.0.

After the update was applied I checked the status in the car and the car now believes that 6.1.0 was applied.

Hopefully Ford can push this through without a need for FDRS.

Glad that you got this sorted out. Unfortunately, I do not have FDRS but I have reached out to my service advisor. Hopefully they get this addressed. I too wish Ford can address this without the need for FDRS or a service visit.
