I know this is a sight unseen quote from an online EV seller (Tesla) and I'm not really interested in selling, I was just curious.............................$18700

2021 Premium XAWD with 72355 miles.

I am aware that's considered high mileage by most standards, but still.

Anyway, confirms my plan to keep her for a few more years and see what the EV market looks like then.

At least based on my guess of your car in Kelley Blue Book, assuming good condition, that's a bit low. Tesla probably doesn't think they can get much for it at car auction, since they don't sell used cars themselves. You probably can get better prices elsewhere, especially if you can manage a private sale.

Used car prices fell like an Acme anvil held by Wile E. Coyote awhile back. They were unrealistically high during the pandemic anyway.
Yes, and I tried to convince our fellow forum members to NOT pay anything above MSRP because they would soon regret it after the tide recedes. Even I didn't see this large of drop coming though.

Now while I realize that some needed cars right away, I would never have purchased a car for 5 k or more above MSRP when one could have purchased a hybrid at a much lower rate at that time.

I ordered mine at MSRP with all of the incentives at the time purchasing it and I still feel duped.

No one knows the future but the advice still stands that no one should pay a nickel above MSRP unless you have money to burn. ?

Just imagine those suckers that paid above MSRP for used cars with no tax credit. Some most likely lost 40 k in just a little over a year. Now that is a gut punch I am sure.

The UK is just the same.
I paid £60500 in July 2022 for my AWD Ext range, now 12020 miles, just had a trade-in price offered of £30k against a new PHEV vehicle ??. Not happy.

Thanks for doing the leg work for me on KBB. I am fully aware those online quotes are typically very low ball, I was just a bit surprised how low ball it actually was on this one. My mileage doesn't help either, I'm sure.

Anyway, keeping her for a while longer.

Also, as others have said, glad I did not pay a premium for this car. I actually did pretty well, IMHO. It was a demo car and had just over 2000 miles and I paid $1500 UNDER MSRP. I jumped in just before the market on new cars went crazy. I was able to capitalize on the inflated used car market and got a really good trade in on a 2017 Jeep Rubicon. So all in I came out pretty good in the deal.

We are all shocked by the drop. I am planning on keeping my 3021 GT PE for a long time and that’s a good thing. I love the car and it just seems to get better. I bought at msrp and 7 year 100,000 mile extended warranty. So as long as you love it don’t worry about sales price.

Yup, car values, and EVs in general have tanked. Best option is just use your car, not think about it. Drive it into the ground. Eventually they get to Zero value anyways. After that point, it's like you're driving a free car.

Yeah, the thing about these values tanking is that it makes people like me not interested in upgrading at all, and just driving the car for 10 plus years and maybe even longer, and not buying a new car again. I went from never buying a new car to buying two in two years. I love my GTPE, but that upgrade from a Select AWD was enough. What do we expect to improve over the next five years with the MME? Native NACS port, snappier (but still slow and outdated for the time APIM), better BlueCruise, maybe slightly better performance? Yeah, don’t care about any of that. The GTPE produces more power at standstill than the tires can put down.
