If the charging structure is key, and Ford will have access to 15,000 Tesla Superchargers in Spring, then that box is checked.

A delay in investment at ONE location makes you sell a car? Do you not buy other things based on the long term investment strategy of the company? Did you look into WHY Ford stopped that? A big piece is the union and wages. And they're building battery production in Kentucky...
I love how you turn things, LOL

It's called "big picture". Not isolated events. I mean if I was going to look at isolated events, I'd ask why people buy a Tesla when Musk endorses antisemitic hate stuff, right?

Ford is spending a fortune on EVs. Delaying investment in one factory, where they are facing opposition for their partnership, and possibly wages that kill the economics, is simply smart business. Bill Ford isn't an idiot, and is a huge EV advocate.

Oh, and anyone calling Musk "eccentric" clearly doesn't pay attention to the details.

I use the money I was paying for XM on the MME for a subscription to Apple Music for the Tesla (Tesla has Apple Music built in). I now find that I am using Apple Music in all of our cars and not only have more music options, but better sound quality as well.
Great suggestion, thanks and cheaper then XM for sure!

Hey, not a Fan of Elon, but I do have stock in his company and he makes me money. And Tesla and Ford are in it for the money, damned the customer! So I play the odds and spend my money were I see fit. No one makes my decisions but me, but I do love your logic. Keep it up!

If you want a really good investment strategy, invest in low cost index mutual funds, not individual stocks.

I really believe that people really don't have range anxiety (except for 1st gen Leafs). What they have is Charging station availability anxiety. There are ICE cars with <300 mile range, and no one cares because there are gas stations on every corner. So even though Tesla get's the same "real world range" as other EVs (roughly), they have the advantage of a reliable and available Supercharger network. This mitigate some of the anxiety among tesla owners.

I'm curious about the recalls several people have complained about. I mean, AFAIK, all recalls up to the HVBJB were OTA fixes. My Job 1 has only been in to the dealer once - to get the charge port replaced due to overheating on 48 amp charging.

Also, with all the doom and gloom about the CCS network, I always wonder why I see Teslas at CCS chargers all the time... (yes, I know it's because they tend to be cheaper - ever wonder why that's the case?)

That's 95% of my investment, then I have 5% (play money) trying to hit home runs. Tesla made me lots, almost 20x, but I also lost a ton on other stocks. Overall, my SP500 index funds has done way better.

I have always heard that Tesla’s are LITERALLY overrated. I love my Mach-E and would never buy a Tesla with Elon Musk as the owner.
The tesla workers deserve a pay check and we gladly bought one to supportvthem Musk unfortuanetly will head the path of Howard Hughes. He will not be mourned.

Agree but with an EV on a road trip it is not really a 100% range number as the charging curves to 100% are so slow that to make progress you are really talking charging to 80% or 90% max which reduces peoples range even further when compared to an ICE which is always going to be based on the range of a full tank when filling up.

While access to Tesla super chargers does offer more options on popular routes there are still long wait times, there is a reason that Tesla had to expand the Harris Ranch station significantly due to this. I suspect that the baker station will be next as that one can also get full pretty quickly at certain times of year. When other manufactures start turning using the super chargers it is going to get even worse.

Yes, they will have to keep expanding supercharger stations because they are selling 1mil a year. Good thing they just contracted with BP oil to build more charging stations. We're still in the early phase on EV adoption.

More range is always better, but it comes at the expense of weight and efficiency. More range requires a bigger, heavier battery, therefore reducing the efficiency. I think for the vast majority of people 300 is the sweet spot. If you're driving for 250miles straight, you really should take a short break to refresh anyways.
