How fast has anyone gone through brakes? I had some grinding a couple of weeks ago and the dealership I bought the car from said the brakes are ok. 2 weeks later it went to full on squeaking and weird sounds. I thought there was damage to the car somewhere so I took it to a dealership closer to my home and he said the brakes need to be replaced and the rotors cut. I thought EV’s don’t wear brakes as fast. I have ICE cars that had brakes last longer. Has anyone had the same issue?

I have over 53k miles on my Mach E and my brake calipers are fine. This includes Winter driving on Lake Superior ice and in northern Vermont, and also five thunder runs this Summer down the Bonneville Salt Flats speedway. Plus everything in between...

Thank you. I figured they have to generally last longer than 28k. I drive most of the time in engage and don’t use one pedal. I’m wondering if there is another problem or I’m being taken for a ride

Would the service department know that I qualify? They already told me it $1100.

I would recommend that you talk to the service manager about that TSB. I had that done on my previous First Edition. The TSB explains how the early brake pads were 2 piece, the replacement pads are 1 piece. If that does not get you anywhere, I would recommend calling Ford to intervene.

I do not use one pedal at all
1-pedal shouldn't make any difference at all unless you are constantly mashing the brake pedal.

FWIW, I have 30.5k miles and 2.5 years on mine, use engage and almost never in 1-pedal mode, my pads are fine.

It depends on how you drive. I use engage mode and always keep a good distance so I almost never have to use breaks even without one pedal driving option. Do you use your breaks a lot?

I think 1-pedal mode is like low gear mode on ICE cars. It is good to save breaks during long downhill drives

With 1pd turned off the friction brakes are doing a majority of the work.
That's not true. With blended braking, the majority of the work in 2PD is still using regen. The friction brakes only engage when more stopping power is required than the car can get out of regen. It's quite obvious to me when the friction brakes are engaged because I can hear it.

Maybe I missed it, but what are the pads measuring at? Is the dealership recommending new brakes because the pads have worn out to the sensor or because they found rust or warpage or runout on the rotors?
