Just got Ford Powerup 6.7.0 claiming that I now have the elusive Frunk Release feature on my Ford Pass app. I don’t see it on my app, nor any explanation as to how to use it. Any suggestions?

You need to have PaaK setup. Also it can take a few days for the FordPass servers to recognize that you have the software installed.

It will appear in FordPass the next time the servers poll your car. For now, you can test it by entering your door lock code on the pillar and then hitting the 7-8 button.
Exactly, mine appeared on FordPass the next day and it worked lol

Mine first appeared after doing swipe-down refresh on the (iOS) Fordpass Home screen. I had already verified function by using the door lock code method.

I’m still annoyed that I’ve found posts here on 6.7.0 dealing with the same problem dating back more than a year and a half ago.

So is the pillar feature one that goes along with the FP button, so if we always had the button in FP we always had the pillar feature, and if someone didn't have the button in FP, they get both with 6.7.0?

The frunk portion of 6.7 was primarily aimed at 2021 Job 1 owners. Those cars have never had remote frunk releases absent module updates by dealers or enthusiasts via FDRS. Everyone since job 1 has had remote releases using the sync screen button, FP, or the pillar keypad (unlock code followed by 7-8 within 5 seconds).

When I received this update, the button did not immediately show -- nor the next day. But the day after that the button appeared in FordPass.

It still doesn't appear on the settings (drive-mode) screen ... but I'm reading that wont happen until the car gets a Sync4 update.

In regards to this part, is this part of one of the many numbered updates that are floating around right now, or is this a FDRS/dealer/wait for a future OTA type of update?

If you are asking about the Sync 4 update (not the 6.7.0 update that enables the frunk) then I don't think anyone here knows the answer to that yet.

As I recall (from my "photographic" memory where some of the pictures came out black) if a person wanted to enable the frunk without waiting for the 6.7 update, then they'd need to update two modules (BCM and GFM) ... BUT it wont show up on Sync until they use FDRS or ForScan to change a configuration option that tells it to display (vs. hide) the button. That configuration change isn't a software update ... it's just a setting. If you don't use FDRS or Forscan, then a software update of Sync 4 would presumably flip the setting to "reveal" the button on cars that have the frunk enabled.

As such (and someone correct if I'm wrong) it shouldn't matter _why_ Sync 4 is updated... any update would cause it to default to revealing the button if the car has the frunk enabled (due to having up-to-date software on those two modules).

The activation of the center screen button will require either a future OTA update, or someone with FORscan to alter the car, or someone with FDRS (either a dealer or an enthusiast) to run the activation routine. ??

If someone is able to take a screen shot of the new frunk button in FP, please post it! Not sure what I'm looking for or where it should show up...
