Mercedes has opened up their chargers in Florida at a Buc-ee's and what has Ford done to improve DC charging for CCS EV owners? Made a deal with Tesla regarding NACS + Superchargers (who knows exactly when we will get real world access) and the idiotic "Charging Angels" public relations BS.

GM has partnered with EVGo + Pilot/FlyingJ to build stalls at those gas stations. A tiny little startup named RIvian has built 57 RAN fast-charging locations with 340+ chargers also. And various other carmakers have joined together to build a network also (https://www.theverge.com/2023/7/26/...nt-venture-north-american-ev-charging-network)

Is Ford actually serious about EVs?

Did you miss this completely? Ford is requiring EV dealers to install DCFCs.

Haven't seen a single one installed and with the recent backtracking of the Ford EV program who knows. That article is now a year old and what has happened since?

OTOH, I've actually used real world DC chargers (ChargePoint) installed at Hyundai dealerships. I believe Hyundai forced dealerships to install chargers as part of the EV certification process and a handful have public DC chargers. Ford is full of hot air.

I used Hyundai dealership DC chargers back in spring (9 months ago) when I owned a Ioniq 5 Limited.

In Florida, I checked Plugshare and counted 8+ Hyundai dealerships with ChargePoint DC chargers. Also BMW, Mercedes, and Harley dealerships seem to have DC chargePoint stalls..

Zero Ford dealership in Florida seem to have DC chargers. I know the 6+ in the Orlando area do not.

Yeah it's slow. I'm sure within 4 years things will be different.

Several Ford dealers in my area do have DC fast chargers. BUT, very annoyingly, they tend to park their stock vehicles in front of them for days at a time.

Are you certain they are DC? You might be thinking of slow L2/AC chargers. Can you name a Ford dealer in your area? Can't find one using PlugShare but there are plenty of Nissan, VW, BMW, Harley dealerships with DC chargers.

The dealer that I bought mine at, Germain Ford in, Dublin, OH, has 6 ports up and running. It took a while for them to get them activated. They've been up for about 2 months now, I think. They're on the Blink network. The app shows them as 180 KW, but I think they're shared between 2 ports. They were free for a while. I was charging there once while they were free and an employee walked by and said that they hadn't figured out yet how to get them set up to charge for the charge. They set a fairly high price, so I doubt they get many takers. There are lots of 60 KW+ chargers here in the Columbus suburban area. Most of the dealers, Ford and otherwise, are putting them in. Hyundais seem to be pretty likely to have working chargers.

Yes. I’m not confusing them for L2s. One of them is Porter Ford in Newark, DE with several up to 200kW chargers from Blink on their property. They would be super useful if they didn’t constantly leave stock vehicles parked in the way of some of them.

Are you sure they are operational, the articles I have found say by the end of 2024? Also, do the Mercedes EV's use a different plug than the Mach E?

"Mercedes-Benz will build charging hubs at most Buc-ee's existing travel centers, starting with about 30 by the end of 2024," the release said, including stores in Texas, Alabama, Florida and Georgia. Depending on region and location, the hubs will offer 4 to 12, and potentially up to 30 high-power chargers (HPC).Dec 14, 2023

My local Ford dealership here in San Antonio already has the chargers installed. The problem is the local electric company dragging it's feet with permitting and sending power to them. The chargers won't be up and running until mid-February.
