Dealer just picked up my 2021 GTPE for recall and warranty work. They dropped off a 2023 GTPE nite pony loaner.

A few things I notice right away-
Beeps- the sounds all sound different

Display- colors and style a little different

Shifter- doesn’t free spin anymore, can only click from p r n d.

Sound- even in “stereo” a ton Of sound comes from center speaker

Suspension- seems significantly softer.

Anyone know if they changed the suspension tune on the mag ride?

It’s a very large noticeable difference.

Yes, we have the same tires (mine fairly bald at 9k miles this one at 300 miles). But I think it’s more than that. It rides smoother than mine ever has, especially over speed bumps. I had it in engage mode but will try other settings to compare as well.

The 22's I drove held bumps better than the 23 I drove. The 23 needed Unbridle in order to not bounce all over. There is a chance the springs could have changed or the amount of magnet in the magna I suppose. Supply chain shortages and all. Tire pressure will also help with the bounce, I'd look to see where the 23 is at pressure wise. The shocks can help remove the secondary bounce(s).

My prem can't take a speed hump over 10 mph, speed bumps I pretty much stop and crawl over. How fast are you able to?

That'd be nice if they made Whisper softer on the GTPE, I'd hope it was on the software side and something they can push to us... I barely feel much of a difference, aside from the steering wheel and pedal, between all 3 drive modes.

I’ll have to drive more and test. But in the 1 mile drive home for lunch it was immediately noticeable. I only commute a mile to work and go home for lunch daily. So to say I know the bumps is an understatement.

The 23 tire pressure is 36 cold, which is where I keep mine.

If it’s a tuning difference, I wouldn’t complain having a bit more difference between unbridle and the other settings.

My last car was a Chevy SS with mag ride. It had a lot more “range” between the various settings. Plus they could be changed independently from other settings.

One of puzzling to me are all the sound system threads. I guess it makes sense now. Maybe they changed something there between the model years.

I've vowed to hold off on a GTPE purchase until I can map the magna changes and actually adjust them. The problem I had was anything less than Unbridle and the back bounced around too much (granted bone stock cars without sway bars and tires at 36psi) on expansion joints, which we have on huge curved cloverleaf ramps. I have to get some pics as the only way to really tell that they are there is the mass amount of random paint and tires tire marks smashed into the concrete wall.

Yeah in stereo mode in my 2021, I don’t hear the center speaker. It’s definitely still loud in the 2023.

Drove some more and unbridle seems the same as my 2021, but whisper and engage are softer and more bouncy.

Not sure that I like it better, but may be nice for people wanting a smoother ride.

Some more changes-

Auto headlamp icon on bottom left of driver screen.

Speed sign recognition- gone.

replaced with “predictive speed assist” which changes your speed when corners are coming up

That’s all I’ve noticed so far. I’m sure there is more.

Odd that connected navigation is off on the first screen, then on on the second screen.

Are you sure it’s not the Auto High-beams icon that’s always been there?

That was part of the changes with BlueCruise 1.2.

Probably because the 2023 is a loaner and nothing really turned on.

The 2nd screenshot is from my 2021.

Ah that makes sense. I turned off auto high beams week 1. All they seem to do is annoy me (turning on and off constantly reflecting off street signs and then blinding people coming towards me).

My 2021 is still on 1.0 BC of course. We shall see what 1.3 and 1.4 bring.

The 2023 auto highbeam is actually pretty cool. I enabled it with ForScan.
It fades in and out. If a car goes by and it decides to come on, and then another car shows up around a corner, they usually don’t get blinded anymore, since it just shuts off while it’s fading on.
