I went with the ChargePoint Home Flex: up to 48A adjustable charging, it automatically computes your dollar cost per charge and per month (you just put in the utility and the plan), and you can replace the J1772 with a NACS cable in the future.
I had not heard of that until your post, now I am tempted to pre-order even though we don't have a NACS EV yet in case there are a run on them in the future. :D

Juice Box 40 for 2.5 years now. No problems. I did the "plug-in" version. However, I know "State of Charge" recommends hard wired out of safety concerns.

At the time, never informed the municipalities of my installation. However, have been told it should have been permitted. Did everyone else get theirs permitted by city or county? Am I the only rogue agent??
I also have a JuiceBox 40, as a plain charger it has been working well for over a year now. The issues with it are mostly on the software side, but we pay extra for these features compared to a simpler EVSE so these issues are still worth mentioning.

The new app is trash, it barely works and they removed a bunch of the metrics the original app had. Like, multiple times their server has been down when I opened the app. But I don't have to interact with the app very often, so it's not a huge deal. It drops off the wifi network every once in a while, then immediately reconnects, sending me a useless notification about this, but most importantly it retains the charging schedule so it's mostly just a nuisance rather then a problem. There does exist a way to make it ignore the charging schedule in case if the WiFi connection or server is down and you can't re-configure it with the app, but I've never had to do this.

One actual problem is that the charging schedule only allows one time block each for weekdays and weekends, I have it charge from 7PM to 11AM on weekdays, and all day on weekends... but it will stop charging at 12:00AM on Monday because it wants to wait until 7:00PM, even though I'd rather it keep charging until 11:00AM.

I did get a permit and inspection for the outlet, mostly because the HOA requires it, but also in the extremely unlikely case there are any issues, that all the I's are crossed and t's are dotted. The only issues the inspector flagged were relatively minor, like the circuit wasn't labeled permanently enough on the panel.

I already had the JuiceBox mounted when the inspector came by, but I don't believe installing the EVSE itself requires a permit if it's connected to an outlet.

I have the emporia. It’s been rock solid for 2 years. I also have their energy monitor so I can set it to charge with only excess solar power during the day.
For the NACS to J1772, I have the lectro. Its $160. I also use it at destination chargers at hotels. this on is solidly built. The cheap ones scare me. There is tesla tap mini but it is way more expensive $300.

I installed the Tesla Universal charger recently after using a few of the other brands. No issues over the last few months.
I order this power charger now as well. What app do you use to run it and is it a good app compared to others? Many thinks

You use the Tesla App. It’s very basic in comparison to the others.

That doesn’t sound good. One of the best chargers on the market. Maybe I should stay with the Autel. Decisions, decisions

Being a new owner to EV's, does anyone suggest the best charge station to install at home? I ordered the Autel Level 2 Home Smart EV Charger for up to 50 AMps. I noticed that there are a lot of different ones available. I am just not sure if there is a better one to install for now and into the future
I have an Emporia EVSE hardwired on a 60 AMP circuit and it has been great. For the price it is hard to beat and I think State of Charge now list it as their # 1 charger. App is great and you can input your rate and it shows you how much you spend on charging. With the way the plugs are going, you might also consider a Tesla universal EVSE.

I second this. Our gave a $500 discount/rebate.
I have 2 JuiceBox 40s.
Same here - got a $500 rebate from our electric company via online rebate forms. Also, I went with 50A install, with a Emporia EV Charger Level 2 48A, and I love it. Highly rated too by almost all review sites, and its 1/2 the price of most others. Great for outdoor installs if needed too.

Did you check with your utility provider? Not sure about Canada, but in the US, a lot of them offer rebates or subsidies on specific chargers.
Nothing offered here in Canada. I am looking to see about putting solar panels up to subsidies the cost of the car. We get rebates on solar, so hard to say no to free money

I needed a longer cord for my charger and the Ford Mach-E specialist technician directed me to the EV WIRED website. The main thing they said was to make sure it specifically said "MACH-E COMPATIBLE" but there are so many that I have wondered which is better as well.
The following is the website he sent me:

I’m new to the forum, but I was just trying to find someplace where I could reference my level two charger I had installed. Unfortunately I don’t have a garage so I had to install mine outside closer to the driveway. It does kind of stick out at night so I bought this item online and put it on there today sticky tape with Velcro it’s for a mobile home or door. I just wanted to show.

Maybe I missed something. What happened to your Autel? I've been using a 50 amp Autel set at 48 amps, giving me 11.2 kwh for 9 months with no problems.
