Hey Peeps,

Today a red WRX pulled up behind me. We were at a light to turn on the freeway. I took the ramp with spirit, but noticed the WRX (almost) keeping up. Then he zipped into opening onto the freeway.

I pulled out into the fastlane and I noticed he slowed down, he flashed his hazards and then pulled over allowing me to overtake him. He revved as I went by and then fell in behind me.

I could have probably started slaloming through traffic and he would have followed. As it was I chilled in my lane and he took the gap and sped off.

This is my first fast car. Is this some kind of racer language I didn’t understand? Or was he just being angsty?

I love how fun this car is to drive, but I’m new to road challenges haha. What do you think?

I was overtaking him in Engage haha. Alright, now I know what a challenge looks like. Whether I ever take someone up on one remains to be seen.

Hazards flashing usually means "race over, good game"
I learnt today.
Usually my races arnt over until one crashes, ventalates a block or pours oil all over the road. The last 2 being really hard to do in an MME but I can try.

You will have to get use to this situation.

I have to deal with those people (mostly in crappy cars probably uninsured, 40% uninsured motorists in my area) all the time. Those morons were coming in from an exit with long ramp and trying to zoom pass by an MME. I had to slow down to let them pass just to avoid accidents.

I had to pull out in traffic ā€˜kind tight’ this week. I had more than enough room but nope, some a hole decided he needed to pin it and do 75+ to try to get on my ass while honking, in a 45. He had to change 3 lanes over to try to make his point. Whilst I zipped way ahead in my own lane. I’ll admit the desire to road rage that one into a curb was high, but I had my kid in the car saying ā€˜wow they’re just too dumb to drive’.

Isn't grabbing an SVS for the HVBJB kind of like losing a couple of cylinders? Or getting an SSN equivalent to dropping a valve? I wonder if @heisnuts can chime in on that? ??

I would say the SVS is like losing a couple cylinders since the car still runs, just with reduced power. The SSN is more like losing a starter since in my experience when the SSN message comes up when the car is still powered up it will continue to run until you shut it off. Once the car is off, however, it will not restart and will have to be towed.

My first HVBJB failure was before the software update to let you know the HVBJB was getting close to failing. In that case I got no warnings until I shut the car off. It was when I tried to restart the car that the SSN message came on and the car had to be towed. After the software update the SVS message came on before the HVBJBs actually failed and that gave me time to drive the car into the dealer for repairs.

Nothing good can happen when you race on public roads. Don't encourage the fools that pull up next to you. You have a lot more to lose than they do.

I still think @Ford Motor Company should make you a permanent tester. Just keep you behind the wheel of a 4X and GT to break HVBJBs.

I got my recall HVBJB and I’m curious how much of your data went into designing my GT’s latest ā€œCā€ version and the 4X’s ā€œEā€ version of the junction box.

Good advice. I probably let him goad me more than I should. But ultimately I’ve never wanted to be that guy that is blasting by people and cutting them off. I hate that and treat others the way you want to be treated and all that.

My last car was forrester so I’ve never even had to consider it, haha. Having a car that is as performative as the Mach-E is fun because it does exactly what you tell it, still blows my mind sometimes.

Yes I totally agree! Don’t let them take away your FUN! They want you to do something stupid! You worked hard for your new car. Sorry to say there are a lot of jealous people out there. Take the time to safely enjoy your lighting bolt of Fun! ⚔?⚔?⚔
