Yes Sir, good decision, the tesla folks had bad reviews of the michelin EV tires, but I just did not believe it, they made a significant difference for me in the ride and handling, I think Ford should look at wider tires especially on the top tier models, those 245's just do not cut it for enthusiast drivers, with that heavy of a vehicle, you got to have a little wider tires, hopefully ford will consider that in future releases of the top tier GT/PE models. I just did not enjoy or feel confident with those OE 245 tires, my preference for an SUV would be 265 or wider, but my guess is Ford like other SUV vehicle makers feel the skinnier tires give you the most range, hard to say.
And that is exactly why there are 245's on the GT, range. They would have put wider tires on it like they did my ICE Mustang (Michelin PS4S 315/30/20) from the factory if they wanted the car to perform better.

So…., the elephant in the room for some of us(pun intended with those wide awesome tires :))
- How much of a range hit did you take? I know it’s hard to assess especially if you weren’t too concerned about mileage when you bought the car. But I drive a lot and I hate the skinny tires on my Route 1

I have seen no loss in range, I did a few test drives from Jacksonville to Orlando area and back and did not see any significant loss in mileage, I do pretty good since I take a mixture of highway and street to help with range.

My concern would be with the height difference. A 265 vs 245 with both being a 45 series profile, should be slightly taller. Have you noticed any issues with that? Speedo being off or anything?

That's only about a 2.4% difference and about 1.5 mph so not a concern on the speedo. Besides, most Mach-E's I have dealt with I've found the speed is a bit fast from factory so slowing it down will most likely make it about perfect. I've run taller tires for 3 years on the Mach-E, no issues.

Sharing a few of the upgrades I recently did to my 2023 Ford Mach-E GT PE. These were all excellent upgrades, See pics and links below:

1. Replaced the Perilli 245/45/20 tires with Michelin 265/45/20 Pilot Sport EV tires, awesome change in ride and handling quality, discount tire did the installation, be sure to get your pucKs on amazon, and ensure you have same size tires front and rear if AWD. Discount tire may tell you widest tire is 255/45/20, but that is no correct, the wheels accommodate 265/45/20 tires.

Do you have issues with the front splitter extension rubbing?

I'm already nervous about the front splitter being as low as it is, and IF anyone ever comes out with a lowering kit for the magna-ride systems I want to lower it .... so I'm concerned that adding more elements even lower will cause issues.... this is my daily driver, and I put about 20K miles a year on.....

No issues at all with rubbing on the front or side splitters, the front and size splitters fit like OEM and look great after installation. Highly recommend the front and side splitters. I had it installed at my local mod shop in JAX, FL, it was pretty easy, couple screws and tape.

Just curious if you ended up replacing the charger.

Based on the Amazon reviews, that looks like a shockingly (no pun intended) terrible charger to buy based on the listing. I'm guessing one of the reviews is yours and the only other two on there are Vine reviews (free products given in order to provide a review). Both the charger listing and the company itself are rated F on Fakespot (helps detect fake reviews and scammy products/companies). I'm just really surprised someone would take a chance like that on something so important and potentially dangerous.

Hi
Lovely looking ride, so thumbs up to that..
I have a premium spec that I am just about to change the wheels on.
At present they are a skinny 225 55 19.
I am going for 20 rims that are 8.5 wide and wanted to put 265 45 20 tyres on them.
So my questions are.
You experience no rubbing at all with this size?
It hasn't upset any of the electronics in the vehicle? Im Concerned about the AWD system.
Thanks in advance
Mike.

Hey, Mike. Thanks for thumbs up! No rubbing issues at all, it looks like it could take even wider tires with no issues. Also, as long as you have the same size tires all the way around, you will not have any electronic or AWD issues.

Also, just let the folks know that the 265/45/20's work fine, recommend using discount tire, and let them know another owner had that size installed with no issues.
I may be mistaken but going from 245/45 with 265/45, your speedometer will be off. The 45 is not the height of the tire. It is an aspect ratio of the tire width to height. So your tires are 20mm wider, therefore they are also taller by about 9mm on the top and bottom, total height increase is 18mm.
Got it. Let's break it down:

Original Tire: 245/45/20
- Sidewall Height: 245 mm × 45% = 110.25 mm
- Diameter: 20 inches × 25.4 mm/inch = 508 mm
- Total Diameter: 2 × 110.25 mm + 508 mm = 728.5 mm

New Tire: 265/45/20
- Sidewall Height: 265 mm × 45% = 119.25 mm
- Diameter: 20 inches × 25.4 mm/inch = 508 mm
- Total Diameter: 2 × 119.25 mm + 508 mm = 746.5 mm

**Speedometer Error Calculation**:
- Circumference of Original Tire: 728.5 mm × π = 2,288 mm (approx)
- Circumference of New Tire: 746.5 mm × π = 2,345 mm (approx)
- Speedometer Error: approx 2.5%

So, your speedometer will read about 2.5% slower than your actual speed. If your speedometer shows 60 mph, you're actually going around 61.5 mph.
