I'm slowly putting together my 2-year review of the Mustang. It's hard to believe it's been just over 23 months since we picked it up. This isn't a full review of everything related to the Mustang. It's just a brief post of where I can remember where it's been. Below are a few of those places.

Albuquerque, Amarillo, Anaheim, Austin, Bakersfield, Barstow, Blythe, Cameron, Camp Verde, Caverns of Sonora, Denton, Desolation Flats, El Paso, Erick, Flagstaff, Fredericksburg, Fresno, Gallup, Glendora, Globe, Grand Canyon, Grants, Holbrook, Houston, Junction, Kingman, Las Cruces, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Modesto, Monterey, Muir Woods, Needles, Painted Desert, Palm Springs, Palo Cedro, Pasadena, Payson, Petrified Forest, Phoenix, Prescott, Redding, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Jose, Santa Barbara, Sedona, Tempe, Tucson, Tucumcari, Tusayan, Village of Oak Creek, Wichita Falls, Williams, Winona, Winslow, Verde Valley.
(I harbor no illusions that I'm Geoff Mack or Johnny Cash.)

[EDIT: I swapped the original image I posted with one that's more clear.]

Congrats on your upcoming anniversary and I look forward to your review.

My GT 2nd anniversary is coming up this Saturday 2/10. The car has been basically flawless for 29k miles.
We've had the same experience. We live on a washboard gravel road. After a time, the rear tail light fasteners vibrated loose. Nothing ten minutes and a little Loctite blue couldn't take care of.

And a list of planned or dreamed road trip destinations for this year, in no particular order. Nothing shorter than about 500 miles round trip is listed; those are basically day trips.

Nearly certain:
  • Back to Houston, perhaps via a different route
  • Another, separate trip to southern Texas for the eclipse
  • Death Valley
  • Several trips to Pasadena and the LA valley
  • Redding, CA once or twice
  • Tucson
  • Albuquerque several times
  • Las Cruces (I'll probably take a ride past the VLA on this trip)
Vacation/Camping trips:
  • Bryce, Zion, and Kodachrome
  • Moab & Canyonlands
  • Grand Canyon North Rim
Possible, though they're far more aspirational:
  • Petaluma
  • Yellowstone
  • Billings
  • Cape Canaveral for a spacecraft launch
  • DC for a conference
  • Seattle

Zion is amazing. Bryce definitely worth a stop too. We did a road trip a few years ago starting in Vegas, though valley of Fire, Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Sedona and then to Phoenix (all in a rental minivan).

You have me beat for sure. Had my car since Oct 2021 and the farthest it’s been from home is 50 miles. ?

We try to do a Southern Utah trip at least once a year. We were in Kodachrome and Bryce for the eclipse last October. We didn't have the Mustang, and that was a mistake. We used to enjoy road tripping in the Tacoma, despite its poor efficiency, but the Mustang has spoiled us and we were uncomfortable and pretty unhappy on the drive home. We don't do Tacoma-worthy off-roading any more, so all the things we used to put up with just aren't worth it any more.

I have family and sometimes work-related reasons to go to Seattle, but it's competing with a lot of other destinations this year. I love the drive through Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and Eastern Washington to Seattle, so we'll probably start realistically planning that for summer of 2025, with a zip down the 5 to Redding and LA on the way home.

Fifty miles wouldn't even get us from the dealer where we bought the car to home--the local Ford dealer is pretty strongly anti-EV.

Our very first drive in the car was 66 miles on an interstate highway, from a clear day in the valley to a snow storm on the mountain, with an elevation gain from 3200 feet to 7000 feet elevation.

A couple days later we did a 180 mile round trip to the Grand Canyon, again on a snowy day. Then a week later we went to LA (1100 miles round trip).

I couldn't possibly imagine not driving all over the place. But, then my morning commute in high school was a 55 mile, 2-hour bus ride, so perhaps it's just in my blood.

It's a great car.

I've had a few good cars among a mix of the usual forgettables, and this car is the best by far.

Packable, fun as hell to drive, flexible, looks good, well-designed, reliable, cheap to use...

You and your Mach-E are well traveled! We can't wait to hear all of the new places you go in two more years.

Stop!!!!

You’re supposed to dumping all over EV’s as road trip cars, charging infrastructure, charge curves, Ford, Farley, dealerships, puppies, ponies, etc.
