Here is a summary of my vehicle repair. Replaced everything piece by piece until error codes stopped popping up.

I guess I would ask... after they replaced the coax...did they try to clear the code and see if it came back....?

Looks like you should be good to go though!!

This is an update to TSB 23-2137 that adds additional trouble codes and clarifies parts ordering. This is the TSB to fix coaxial cable issues causing Front Camera Fault Service Required messages. The TSB directs replacement of the camera coax cable first above the headliner, and if that doesn't work then it continues down the A pillar and floor back to the IPMA in the trunk area. You are more likely to have this issue if your vehicle had the windshield or glass roof recall performed, since this cable was likely disturbed and may have been damaged by careless handling during reassembly. The coax cable is fragile and cannot be bent sharply (gentle turns only) or it will fail.

Summary

This article supersedes TSB 23-2137 to update the Title, Action, Issue, Service Procedure and Parts List.

Issue: Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit various driver assistance system warning messages or inoperative features and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U3000:49 stored in the image processing module A (IPMA) that will not clear and not be stored in the vehicle's history. DTCs C1001:31 and/or U3000:89 may be stored in the IPMA, but may have recently been cleared and stored in the vehicle's history. This may be due to a connection issue between the IPMA Camera and the IPMA. To correct the condition, perform the following service procedure to repair the connection and reset the IPMA.

Action: Follow the Service Procedure to correct the condition on vehicles that meet all of the following criteria:

The TSB doesn't mention this, but the first step should be to pop off the cover above the rear mirror and confirm cable routing does not put strain on the connector. Correcting the cable routing here alone may be enough to fix the issue without needing coax replacement. You can easily pop the cover off and check yourself to possibly save a dealer trip. If your cable is routing is correct and you still have the issue, bring it to the dealer and mention this TSB.

This is useful info. I just pulled my trim cover off to install a new radar detector because my old Passport had finally died. My camera cable was actually angled in exactly the wrong position. Must have been like that since the car was manufactured. I had been getting an occasional camera fault notice... let's see if this fixes it.

I did it myself, by my observation, the original front camera cable is in a state of tension, and if you follow each of the cables they are subject to a number of sharp twists. Furthermore, the instructions indicate that only some cars will have the APIM jumper, but near as I can tell they all will since our car doesn't have BC yet still had the jumper. Also, I used split loom cables under the dash.

I dropped off my vehicle today to have this issue repaired. Worried since I have a huge trip coming up in 10 days.

I took the car back as they had it 3 days and didn't even look at it yet. I was worried they would not get it fixed in time or they would try to fix it and make it worse. At least it works a lot of the time at the moment...just kicks off from time to time when I hit a bump. So I'll take it back in after my trip is over.

Well 5 minutes into my 3rd day and the Camera Fault is now permanently on. Seems Normal Cruise Control won't even work either. It's going to be an annoying 11 days manually controlling the throttle and steering wheel. 1st world problem!

The positive side of this is that the problem is no longer intermittent and therefore should be easier to diagnose once I'm back from my trip and can get it into Ford for service.

Mine went from occasional fail on some bumps (my dashcam would beep at same time) but would recover. Now, after 3yrs but <36k it fails on start up.

Need to take it in for something else so good to have this info about the TSB and that it may be fixable on my own. Fwiw I popped the cover and the bend not too bad but cannot tell if the cable is an issue at a diff point

I'm going in tuesday for my second IPMA. (third I guess if you count the original).

Intermittent front collision assist error which seem to line up with some slow speed parking lot pot hole bumps. They are certain based on the error codes it's the IPMA and not the cable. I didn't have glass roof so there's no recall fix that would have damaged the cable.

So your first replacement was just a dud, too? I thought the cable could be messed up from the factory as some weren’t angled properly or something?

Appears to be. Had it done maybe 3 or 4 months ago. Then I saw the dash message again and pulled codes and sent to my dealer. they are pretty good so I'm trusting them but they are saying the codes indicate (with instruction from Ford) the replacement IPMA is also bad. There was a part hold on the module which took a bit of time to get this replacement so maybe something has been changed, not sure. Dealer couldn't say either.

Good luck to all attempting this repair. I’ve been trying to get mine fixed since last summer, I recently went over 36k and Ford hasn’t been much help. The last fix was a “software update” and this is a “different repair” so they are considering it a new issue, even though I’ve got all the classic pre-collision assist warnings and it’s the exact same error messages for months. At least they’re permanent instead of intermittent now so it’s not surprising me while I’m driving I guess.
I got the same answer from the dealership. It's a software update, but that wasn't the problem. What a mistake buying a first model year car... it's one thing after another...

I guess I should post a followup on my camera fault. My local Ford dealer had it in for service in early July for 3.5 weeks and it is all fixed. They replaced a coax cable and the IPMA (I think). They had to recalibrate the cameras and amazingly BC 1.0 works even better than it did before. Was the factory camera calibration bad?
