Well, CCS rather than J1772, but yeah. Only Tesla V3+ stations in North America are able to use that protocol.It doesn't have to do with the charging power directly, it has to do with the generation of the charging station. Version 1 and 2 superchargers used a proprietary protocol, but starting with version 3 superchargers they adopted the J1772 communication protocol even though the pinouts of the connector aren't strictly J1772. It just so happens that Version 1 and 2 had a charging power of 150kw or less, but version 3 are 250kw.
So, you can tell the supercharger speaks J1772 because it has a charge power of 250kw or more, and thus we can only use 250kw-capable stations.
