Thanks Ford! My NACS adapter apparently comes with complimentary 250kWh of fast charging + 22,000 points

lots of Tesla, superchargers out there!
These adapters only apply to the North America market. Other continents (for the most part) = different charging plug shapes and somewhat different charging protocols.

Most of the European market has already been charge-unified since I think late 2022 when Tesla began to accept non-Tesla EVs in The Netherlands and Norway, and then expanded access..

Even though I’m not set to get my adapter until June, I’m very hopeful that all who ordered their adapters before I did get them very soon. Given the speed, wide availability and the reliability of the Tesla network, this may quickly (I hope) decrease the demand at EA and other charging companies. So it’s a win for those who get their adapters early and for those of us who use EA, etc. I do worry that EA and the other companies will either have to adapt their chargers quickly or run the risk of going out of business? And what about all the other Tesla owners who want to charge a Tesla station and see all these other brands plugged into their chargers? It may soon become difficult to find a spot at a Tesla charging station.
Yes, I have thought that EA will see a decrease in long lines / broken towers / free charge session mania.

If EA wants to stay in business then they should look at EVGo.

EVGo towers are being updated with Tesla cables along with their standard CHAdeMO and CCS cables.

My adapter is not expected until July. What a bummer! Can’t use Tesla charging until then. Seems crazy!
Me too. May buy one elsewhere for my upcoming trip. Hope I'm not dissatisfied and have to return it after. ?

Having said all of that, and despite bing extremely grateful FOMOCO is ultimately opening a whole new charging network to us, I still think it's hilarious that I ordered a car in the middle of a pandemic and took delivery 6 months almost to the day after ordering (pretty remarkable looking back on it), and the projected delivery date of a charging dongle I just ordered is 6 months.

Wait. It's March now isn't it. Sorry, 5 months. Dang! This thing will be arriving a month earlier than I thought! Cool!!
LOL. I ordered my license plates from CA DMV 3-1/2 months before my car’s reservation could be converted into an order. The car was delayed due to the “chip shortage” then twice more for unannounced reasons. I figured the plates would sit on my Fusion Energi for a bit before I got my MME since CA DMV was quoting 8 weeks delivery time. ??

My temporary registration actually expired before I got the plates, which I then had to switch from my Fusion to my MME. I guess the DMV was having an issue sourcing chips for the license plates. ??

So, waiting for a few months for this adapter is pretty insignificant to me compared to the license plates. I mean, the license plates have so many moving parts and the adapter is purely plastics, electricals, and electronics, so it’s easier to make, right? ??

I ordered the adapter the first day it was available. The delivery date is May and also no free kwh (not unexpected).

My 2021 MME came with the 250kWh of complimentary fast charging via the BlueOval network when I first got the car, which I used up.

When I went to reserve the NACS adapter yesterday, it said I had to first register with the BlueOval network. I was surprised, as I was already registered.

I got a confirmation email today welcoming me to the BO network:

Take your first trip on us. As a new member of the BlueOval™ Charge Network, you get 250kWh of complimentary fast charging at Electrify America®. You’ve also earned 22,000 FordPass®Rewards Points** for maintenance, accessories, and more.

Before buying my Ford MME, I went close to 40 years driving non-domestic cars.

I was apprehensive to go to the Ford built product.

Currently there is a lot of Ford bashing because they are losing money on EVs.

Why not GM, that still has a hard time building a profitable EV?

I would like to say that I have been treated fairly by Ford.

I bought my MME in 2021 and I expected a lot of troubles with the car.

I did have problems, but I can say honestly, that I have paid out $49 for the past two plus years and that was for a tire rotation.

The decision to use Tesla superchargers was a great decision by Ford.

Shipping adapters free must have been a hard decision. I wonder what other manufacturers will do.

When the cars were shipped with only one FOB, they rectified that mistake crediting me for the second one I bought.

I must have a good dealer because some of the problems I’ve had were answered without charge.

So, I can say my venture back to a domestic brand has been successful.

Kudos to Ford.

I signed up like 3 hours into seeing the post and I’m not due till sept. How quick did you guys sign up? I was lucky to get a PS5 during covid. I guess this is my penance. And no complimentary fast charging here either. Just the original.

The west coast owners kinda got hosed on this because the reservation portal went live at 0500 Pacific Time on 29 February. I put my reservation in at 0530 and the ETA is May.

They are STILL testing them - the influencers got prototypes not production versions.
Do you have a source for this? Absent a source I highly, highly, doubt this. Software may get revised, sure, but the hardware is surely final.

That it will take so long to get the adapter. I didn’t realize Ford had sold that many electric vehicles. Since it is free, we can’t complain.

So I ordered mine the day it opened but I don't recall it saying when it was going to be shipped. How do you guys know when your adaptor will be ready. I am planning a 10 hour trip in April that I was hoping I could use the Tesla network for! So if I ordered within the first few hours, will I make it by April...

Update: I checked my link in the email and it says June. Oh well...

Mine isn't due until June, but hey, it's nice they're giving them out for free.
How are you getting this information? I haven't heard anything about an adapter except for people discussing them on this forum

Good point, but the surprise of finding a working CCS charger will always still be there.
It’ll be like discovering a Wataburger somewhere. ‘Wow, don’t know that still exists!’
