luckily, I can no longer get any FordPass vehicle status updates (done charging notification, cabin preconditioning update,remote start, etc) either. These new unwanted features were all lovingly enabled at the same time as the 87 MPH limitation.

So when you start the car is it your profile?

You have an appointment so maybe you do not want to bother but I would reinstall FP on my phone and log back in. Then also reset Sync and check your communication connections. But only if you want to mess with it prior to your appointment.

I think the FordPass stuff descended into Hell after my front camera was FINALLY fixed. They replaced it and re-ran the wires. A few days after that I realized that I couldnt remote start it anymore and realized I wasnt getting any notifications about charging being complete, cabin temp was ready, etc. And then a day or two later I got two OTA kinda back to back.

I think the last OTA update - something about improving charging at shitty charging stations. I'm pretty sure that was the exact wording of the update. That brought on the 87MPH limit.

You should send me your VIN so I can confirm, that speed limit is associated with an oil pump failure in one of the drive units. Your motor may already be scrapped by metal shavings due to lack of lubrication. I would not recommend driving it in that condition.

The pump motor failure does not set any warning messages.

Nope. Not unless you check codes periodically. ?‍ If you're lucky you might get a SVS message, but there's been a few with no warnings.

Is there a technical reason you can’t monitor the oil pump? How convenient for Ford you could drive it beyond it’s warranty with a failed pump without knowing unless you try to drive to 100mph

That’s what I heard. I get it, not everything can be monitored. Like you can’t sensor your engine bearings for wear. But a silly pump? C’mon..

If the car is smart enough to limit your speed, is should be dumb enough to throw a “check engine soon” light.
