Darn! April '23 build. Just missed it! We got a reprieve from the usual cold this year, so I guess I'll find out next year how my car performs in the cold.
Yes, what an unusual winter. Hard to complain about a too small heater when we only have a week of cold weather. If we get back to normal and a stretch of -20 degree days I doubt you'll be happy. Global warming so our worries are over.

Here in the northern part of the northern hemisphere will experience more frequently bouts of extreme cold in the winter as the warmer global temps cause the polar vortex to collapse, forcing the arctic cold south. We had about a week or two here in Michigan of very cold days but most of the winter was quite mild, even warm some days. While I think in general winters will be warmer than in the past, this specific quite warm winter is more due to stronger than normal El Niño (again likely caused due to global warming lol)...

Thanx. I looked for the sticker and found it. It was dated "8/23". I guess I just lucked out. Frigid weather! Come on!

We live up here so we are experienced and can prepare for those stretches. On the other point, I'd say our worries are far from over. :(

Hello everyone. New to the forums. I have a lead on a 2023 GTPE with a build date of 7/23. From reading through the forum, 7/23 is the switch over timeframe, so that car can potentially go either way. Would really like to confirm the vehicle has the 2023.5 change. Besides pulling the frunk trim and looking at the cooling expansion tanks, are there any other clues that the vehicle is indeed a 2023.5? My understanding is that the charge door dimple is not a good indicator. Thanks in advance.

You can look at your window sticker. Mine had "charge cord delete" and only 90 day trial of blue cruise so I have a 23.5. If you got a free mobile charger and 3 years of blue cruise its not a 23.5.

Just don't know if I trust Ford with such a correlation. Wonder if there is something more physical on the vehicle that can be checked.

The woman that I believe said she is leading the project now, said on Munro Live that they are constantly making improvements on this car along the way. They aren’t just leaving it and making a new version down the road. Incremental improvements are supposed to be implemented when they can.

I imagine there are a bunch of smaller changes on things that we wouldn’t ever know about.
Yep - that Munro Live video is about two years old now, and my takeaway from it back them was more along the lines of incremental updates. Like removing the parking pawl and maybe less complexity. But this goes far beyond that, this is a bit of re-engineering. Nice to see.

Yeah.
Funny enough though the parking pawl remains. lol. I wish they would just get it out of the programming and use the brakes.

this was a more recent one she (donna dickson) at 2023 North American International Auto show that covered the rally and mentioned other changes that would hit all models:

Ah yes! Saw that one too. I was actually wondering if all the MY24s have new ford motors, not the Magna / Borg Warner combos, not just the Rally. Consumer Reports rated the "electric motor" category higher for the MY24s than other years which I thought was odd since AFAIK they have been the same units since MY21.

Thanks for that!

my guess would be they'd bring the new motor to the 2024 GT at least; maybe everything if their production scale has ramped up enough.

I have what I believe is a 2023.5, but did not have the mobile charging chord delete. But did only get 90 days of Bluecruise.

Surprised me too since my 2022 Powerboost came with 3 years.

When I logged into PTS as well as ordering a Factory Service Manual based on the VIN, the coolant loop diagram for the GT matched the one @Mach-Lee shared.

I haven't disassembled the frunk to confirm.
Manufacturing tag on door jamb is 2023-7. So if it is indeed a 2023.5 , it was one of the first.

Early Job 1, 2021 Premium extended range. Driving on the Pennsylvania Turnpike today. Went into the Ford navigation, touched the charging icon, then identified and made the Tesla Magic Dock location at Harmar a designation. Looked into my Car Scanner Pro app and saw the kW heater immediately jumped from Zero to 6.7. That kW value gradually declined over the next 10 miles to the Tesla Supercharger location but remained over 6.1kW. HVB intake coolant zoomed up to 95f and the battery temperature rose 5f during this time frame. Makes me think these early built MME came with 7.0kW heaters and not the supposed 5.0 kW units.
