Gotta say…. I really enjoy my GTPE. It is a beautiful car. I actually had someone walk up while I was parked today, complement it, and ask if they could take a photo.

However…….

I am really impressed by the N, and I think Ford has a lot of work to do for Gen 2

Red Light/green light comments tell the tale. No range, no power seats??? Plus it's ugly.

Performance is legit. But benchmark? Well…….

It’s a hatchback, not an SUV
Range sucks
No frunk
Price a bit high
And it’s funny looking

If anything, the Porsche Macan EV would be the benchmark. In the lower price category, I’m not sure this offers much more than the Model 3 Performance did years ago.

I wish our GT's would get some of these suspension upgrades. Fully forged 21x9.5 aluminum wheels with 275/35/21 tires, rear electronic limited-slip differential, adjustable torque distribution depending on the drive mode, larger/firmer rear active dampers. Does that last one sound familiar? Apparently they had trouble taming the rear end bounce and needed a shock with much firmer rebound.

Agreed with @markboris that our cars should at the very least have limited slip differentials. Traction control is a poor substitute in a lot of situations. Wheels and tires are way too narrow on our cars as well. Ford also needs to firm up the suspension bushings and speed up the steering. ??

Yes, the 5N hauls booty and can do so for extended periods. But, it’s definitely not my cosmetic cup of tea. ?‍♂?

Exactly. Take what they've done and stick it into our GT's and I'd be very happy. Just can't be driving around in something that looks like that. Ever. By the way Steve, those are the same wheel and tire sizes I ordered for my car a few weeks ago. Never had 21's (or a square setup) but going to give it a try.

"What is a beautiful car. I actually had someone walk up while I was parked today, complement it, and ask if they could take a photo", said no owner of any Hyundai Ioniq or Kia EV ever and therein lies the unassailable advantage of the MME.

Gimme great looking and very fast, over fugly and uber fast any and every day of the week and twice on Sundays!

Agreed but for me it's not about the 0-60 times or how long it can keep up the fast speed, it's about the handling. Many of us have drastically improved the handling with springs, sway bars and shocks but still have a long way to go to get it to be at the Ionic 5 N level. With the new 2024 Mach-E GT w/performance upgrade, Ford has only talked about speed and absolutely nothing to do with handling which leads me to believe it is still the same as it was 3 years ago.

Agee, but I am talking about performance. After all Mustang GT should mean we expect it to have top performance. I am speaking about gen 2 now that the benchmark has been set.

That thing was ugly when it first came out and it's ugly in its N variant. If ugly is your thing, consider a tesla. It comes with a charging network that works, no adapter needed.

Perhaps take your not-on-point comments elsewhere.

The point of this thread is performance.
Then buy a bike. Vehicles are evaluated as a package. Given this has 5 years on the MME, its performance is underwhelming. Did I mention it's ugly?

I like the Ioniq 5, and it’s what I had my eye on for my first EV. Then the released the Ioniq 6, which I like better. The. I bought the Mach-e. I still want another EV, but this time I need one with 450 mile range. If I can double the range of the Mach-e, then I will consider a 2nd EV. My biggest issue is that I need a non-truck to tow my jet ski since I you the trailer with the truck and don’t have a toy hauler.
No EV yet will make it to my annual river and off road tips while towing my toys yet.
