I thought the OTA was flagging an issue with the camera, not even that it’s actually crapped out. I’d be all over the BEV team. I’m not sure a TSB should expire, but if they didn’t flag the 21’s with it (which btw I haven’t gotten past 6.4 which is probably why mine is still working) the BEV team could start working on adding the 21’s to another TSB. Part of it is the dealer is blowing smoke, which doesn’t help.
This is a whole nother issue!! My vehicle was fixed using the procedure in the TSB! But TSB's aren't free to fix!! It is NOT a recall. A TSB is a guide to service departments. The TSB does not relieve the vehicle owner of financial obligation. With so many of our cars not yet out of 36k mile warranty, few understand this!

However Ford took your money for BC doesn't promise your cameras, tires, alignment, windshield etc will be flawless to work with said subscription. Which is why I ended up coughing up $2k for an ESP warranty, exactly for all these modules. Sorry.

Any car from any dealer from any manuf. that can be updated. It's the sad state of tech that we live in. (and manuf.'s know it. Part of the reason Android deprecates phones and tablets as fast as they do. No reason to try to support some old crap, you should have to buy something new every year to help line the pockets of those who make the product, any product. Ever wonder why most Samsung things only have a 6 month warranty?)
Your ESP has a $100+ tax deductible. I have been to the dealer at least 10 times in 3 years with software or other minor issues. That's an extra $1050 on top of the lost time and vehicle use, as these issues recur with future OTAs gone wrong.

I'd never give one thin dime to a dealership to install an update. The mere thought irks me. Lol

While I'd be a lot happier if Ford included the necessary OBD adapter with their vehicles, (a fella can dream) I'd still rather purchase and own the tool myself rather than fund the apathetic dealership.

It stung a little purchasing it when I acquired my first Ford vehicle with OTA folly (2021), but now that it's been amortized across multiple vehicles over several years, it's liberating to be free of waiting on OTAs and/or dealing with the frustration of a service department.

My warranty might not last the lifetime of the vehicle in my ownership, but the tool will, and has long been paid for.
I respect the expertise, but this is not a solution for those of us who just want to be EV owners, not computer programmers.

A 45 minute call with the BEV team informed me that I am fully liable to pay for the 4 hour service repair to restore Bluecruise (for which I previously paid @Ford Motor Company a $700 subscription fee to be able to use). The dealer used the procedure laid out in the TSB for MY22 & MY23 TSB 24-2087 to fix my MY21 vehicle. There was nothing vehicle-specific about my issue. It was a Ford software issue. This is complete insanity. Note for those that own this car after 36k miles - whenever Ford causes a software issue, YOU will be financially responsible to pay for the repair to correct it.
im in same boat with you. I spent time writing messages here and calling BEV Support and Ford Extension warranty team - no luck for car that out of basic 3/36 warranty. Paid $285 for TSB applied by dealer

My Fusion hybrid had an issue where it said it was overheating falsely. TSB, software fix. Out of warranty, 1 hour labor. But, my issue wasn't caused by an OTA. That is the difference.

I've been a big fan of Ford since purchasing our Mach-E a few months ago. But this thread has definitely persuaded me not to keep the car very long and to look elsewhere for our next EV.

@Ford Motor Company @Ford Team had best get a handle on this before it bites them. This won't pass the smell test with any court in the country.

because it will run out of warranty three years from now?

I can't go that far, but I am concerned that an OTA can break the car, and it's the owner's responsibility to cover the costs to fix it. That's unacceptable. I'd turn off OTA's at this point except that I was induced to renew BlueCruise when 1.4 was supposedly arriving in November 2023, and I'd like to *finally* receive what I paid for.

No. My ESP has a $0 deduct. But thanks for trying to keep tabs on my spending, my wife would be happy.
A USB stick update doesn't require much more than a 8yr old can accomplish on a computer, no programming experience needed.
Also if you're scared now you better dump it because in another year you might lose sleep and another year you might lose hair. The chances of it getting worse far out weight the golden OTA that fixes everything and makes you happier.

This is the dealer blowing smoke and Ford not listening. It's double ended sadly. Only course of action I see is keep hammering on Ford. And as I've said many many a time before, venting on this forum gets no where. You want to rattle cages hit up X or any other publicly seen social media. There's a ton of issue that haven't made it further than this forum and the reddit group. Until those are popping up in anyone other than a current owners phone nothing will happen.

@HowdyDoody when exactly did your BlueCruise stop working?
I don't know exactly because I don't use CC/BC every day. About 1 month ago, I received what I think was 24-PU0119-DC-CHG4 and within about 3 days of that had a SSN battery failure. Upon receiving my car back with the SSN recall fix, I noticed Bluecruise no longer worked. It is not clear which event triggered it. Neither my doing, obviously.

Same. It's an absurd situation that a pushed software update can break a feature and the vehicle owner must pay for the fix out of pocket. I've looked to sell my 2021 in the past 2 days, but KBB suggests the values of our used 2021 MMEs are in the dumps. I'm not surprised.

Ford's policy here is outrageous. It would be outrageous even without a BC subscription being in play, but it's doubly so given that someone is paying for the subscription that they apparently make no guarantees around.

Owning a Ford is exhausting. I just don't feel like the brand or the dealers have my back. The free Tesla adapter is the one pleasant surprise during 2 years of frustrating manufacturer decisions, software bugs, false promises, and struggles with dealerships.

@Ford Motor Company reads this forum.

the exact issue we have with TSB because of buggy OTA does not relate to dealers. My dealer contacted Ford Corp and Extended warranty teams and got denial for coverage from both.
I think soon we have attorney who would like to combine such cases.
