  1. Expanded network allows travel to areas that were previously not easily accessible
  2. Faster charging than 90% of stations
  3. Highly reliable, you know it will work
  4. More stalls per location (8+) in case it gets busy or one is broken
  5. Better amenities (food, bathrooms, etc)
  6. Locations are closer to the main highway than other networks
  7. Lighted location at night
I went on a recent trip that was only really feasible because of the Supercharger network. Two months ago that route would have been horrible without them.

Once you figure out your adapter it’s just so much easier to work with, among the other reasons above.

for example. When I go to electrify Canada, the damn cables are so heavy I have to hold it up while it communicates or it has a charging error at the start. Seems to put too much strain on the CCS1 connector. This isn’t a Mach E issue, it’s a CCS and cable issue.

I tried out my A2Z adapter tonight. Plugged it in and done. The cable must be half the weight of the CCS ones they use, and the supercharger cable is flexible.

Only annoyance is how close you have to get to the charger to reach with that cable.

I've owned my Mustang Mach E for 3 years next week. I've used a public charger twice. I still have 130 free KW that Ford gave me. Will I ever use a Tesla charger? Yeah, once when I get the adapter to see if it works.

I have no need to use it yet even though I received the adapter. Just out of curiosity.
More available or faster charging?
There are virtually no chargers in the Florida Panhandle. I drive my Maverick ICE when I go to the beach. Once I get my adapter it will be possible to plan a trip to the gulf coast. Even with the additional Tesla chargers it will take planning but be possible to drive my Mach e GT for the first time in 2 and a half years.

I thought the same thing, But I guess it depends on where you are and where you go. I have had my Mach-E for a year and a half and never had any issues finding chargers. I am in South Florida though so I guess maybe we have it better than other places? I tried my adapter to make sure it worked, but it was a night mare since the Tesla chargers are so crowded and the only way to use it is to wait for two spots next to each other to open.

I'll keep it in the car just in case, but I still prefer CCS charging for now.

The big complaint is that the Charge Point, ElectrifyAmerica charging stations are not maintained.

It is quite common to have half of the terminals be de-rated or out of service.

Turns out there was a big push & financial incentive to install the stations but zero incentive to keep them running. I suspect the profit on these stations is modest.

Tesla actually maintains the SuperCharger stations & network. Much more reliable as well as more of them along most highways.

Someone pointed out that there is un-tapped employment opportunities if you knew how to drive around and repair these stations.

I was gonna go on a little bit of a long drive today and I just wanted to see what chargers were within 60 miles. Why would one Tesla charging station be compatible but the other is not?

A 150kW Tesla supercharger lacks the
ccs communication protocal and can not be used by yoyr Mach E.

In addition, Tesla is not opening every location that is compatible due to capacity issues, i.e. crowding.

Open Tesla app or website, pick 2 filters, and you will only see compatible chargers.

For those that live in an urban area and not road tripping, Tesla SC are cheaper than charging at home with Tesla membership (Southern California Edison rates are $0.63/kWh).

I charge at least 4x a week and makes it so easy now.
With Tesla SC access, they are super close to where I live and work.

In the past I'd have to wait at the far away EA, Shell & EVGo stations, deal with broken towers, and not have any access to nicer restaurants or shops...

Charging at peak times, I pay $0.34/kWh plus the Tesla membership (written off taxes).

SCE customers are getting screwed. I’m with LADWP and with a TOU meter I’m paying 19.5 cents per KWH this time of year

I probably won’t travel enough to use one even though I’ll have my adapter, but my home charging is four cents.
