I have ordered a key fob replacement and additional $200 is what my dealership wants to “programme” the new FOB

Is there anyway to DYI?

If you don't have both admin keys (assuming you lost one) then you'll have to go to the dealer.
If you do have both keys then you can program another.

I have never lost a key, but the need to have two physical keys to program a new key was part of my rationale for getting an F150 Lightning key for my MME (although the real reason was because I wanted a key with a frunk button). ??

I was provided with two but lost one and I do not trust PAAK

Never lost a key either. My 2021 came with one (as they all did initially), dealer gave me another right away. When I sold the 2021 to a dealership, since the CSP to get a 2nd key wasn't ever used, I kept the 2nd key and made it a 3rd key to my 2022.

When I bought the Lightning, the first thing I did was order a 3rd key and program it. For $60 or less, it's a nobrainer. People pay Ford for key coverage for hundreds of dollars.

I want to get a Lightening fob, and I have two fobs, but 3 Admin Keys? I have not connected PAAK. Not sure what the third Admin key is and if that will give me a hard time. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The Lightning Key will become the third admin key. You need 2 keys to program a third (or fourth). Once you get to 4, your dealer may need to delete one if it gets lost or destroyed. ??

Question: Does the $200 price cover everything ... the cost of the key AND the cost of programming? Or is that _only_ the cost of programming?

If it's just programming (key cost extra) then that's crazy high.

My car only came with 1 key, bought two extra ... the dealer charged $100 to program BOTH of the extra two keys.

$253 for the key with sales tax $3.00 transactions fee. $100 for programming

IMHO after getting a second from the dealer, buy one online, program it yourself, and protect yourself from having to get robbed just to get a FOB replaced.
