I've been using an Emporia charger for a year now and have never encountered that issue. Firmware version is EVCharger-467. Also hardwired and set to 48 amps if that matters.
Ditto - hardwired Emporia

2 years and still going strong even in the super hot summer weather.

Mine is also version 467.

Emporia is communicating with my router - I can see data packets, but no firmware update ?

I'm on 467 (no way to manually force an update). I don't usually see any problems but I think I saw that charge fault issue once or twice. Although this week my breaker popped twice during a single charging session, and that's never happened before. [Charger is set to 40A as it's plugged in, breaker is 50A GFCI as required by code, and it was not the GFCI that tripped.]

Emporia for the win. Can’t beat its price point. Have 2 and they work great in winter and hot Sacramento summers they work fine when garage shuts on the thick cord ??

Anyone have any luck getting emporia support to update firmware? I've been reaching out but have not heard back from them at all.

The Autel is still getting good reviews. I can't tell you how customer service is because I've never needed any help. The app has more information than a normal person would want. I have had no problems in the 11 months that I've been using it at 48 amps.

I have the Tesla Universal Wall Connector.
Works flawlessly.
Can charge any EV without an adaptor.
Ability to power share on the same circuit if another wall connector is installed.

You can even power your house (pending Tesla powerwall & cybertruck) with it. ??

It's not the cheapest by far, pretty much covers all the bases.

ChargePoint Home Flex is pricey, but my #1 requirement was winter cable performance. I also like that the cable is the same one they use for their commercial L2 chargers, the App shows my home and paid charging sessions, can set the amperage anywhere between 32A and 48A in one amp increments, and contrary to Tom's comment the one time I used customer service they were fabulous. They even called me back a week later to see how things were going.
HomeFlex here. Garage w nema plug. Only issues is mine trips breaker randomly, but not often enough that it’s an issue for me. Got a rebate- maybe two- on mine.

Now looking at Enphase since I now have solar w Enphase inverters. I looked up and am in a tract for the federal tax credit.

I love my JuiceBox, but their forced obsolescence of their app and switch to an app more focused on public charging is terrible.

It's been reliable from a hardware standpoint, but the new app doesn't even have plug in notifications and that's the only feature I actually care about from my charger. Otherwise, I'd be fine with a dumb charger (also, Ford could also implement that feature, hint hint @Ford Motor Company )

Could you do me s favor and go into the Emporia app and report here the firmware version you have in your Emporia?

A few of us have an occasional fault reported from the car at the end of a charge session that Mach-Lee helped me track down to the Emporia not stopping charging within the required 3 seconds by the J1772 standard. It usually stops within 2.3 seconds but about 10% of the time it stops at about 3.8 seconds, which is over the spec and the Mach-E reports that as a Charge Station Fault.

I would like to know if your recently purchased Emporia has newer firmware that might fix the issue. Mine has version EVCharger-467 as reported in the app under EVCharger Info.

I really like the Emporia otherwise and actually plan to buy a 2nd one for the opposite side of my garage in a year when my wife plans to transition from ICE to EV. But if Emporia doesn't fix this issue, I might have to go with a different vendor.

The fault isn't a huge problem because it happens at the end of the charge when the car reaches my set limit of 80%. It only causes a problem if after I've reached the 80% and it faulted, if I then wanted to use the FordPass app to remotely restart charging to go higher, I can't. Instead I'd have to physically walk to the car to unplug and replug in to clear the fault first.
I have the emporia and have had that fault error message maybe twice within the past 1.5 year. Never tried to troubleshoot it because it was so infrequent.

edit: just checked the app and I too am evcharger-467

I spent too much, but I went with my buddy's suggestion and installed a Tesla 48amp charger I got from Amazon. I finished the install yesterday, went through the connecting to the internet process and did my first charge last night.

On another charging question, when is Ford supposed to send me the adaptor they promised? Is there a way to follow up to make sure it's been ordered? It's been 20 days since I got Machelle.
You would be in September or later based on that order date.

Wow, Juice Box did not make the list.....She's been good to me for almost 3 years now. I'm not hard wired and mine is with in the garage.

JuiceBox should be on a NEVER BUY list based on the butchering of their software and the removal of capabilities. I filed complaints with the Michigan Attorneys General office as well as the FTC for false advertising.

They are crowing on social media about a brand new app THIS WEEK. Maybe it will bring back those capabilities lost. We'll see. I'd love them to buy mine back.

I've been using a Wallbox 40A for 6 months now. No problems at all. I set the amps to 36A to make things easier on the whole system and it's as fast as I ever need.

It really is annoying. Especially because I only want a single feature - tell me if I forgot to plug my car in by 9pm. The old software could do it, why can't their new stuff. I don't need a bunch of stuff about using other chargers, just give me the single feature I used to use.

Or Ford could implement that feature and I'd delete the Enel X app completely.
