So you’re thinking that it shouldn’t take time to manufacture that many adapters? They gave you an estimated ship timeframe. If you think that’s too long, just buy an A2Z and don’t wait for the free one.
Again I think you are missing the point. There is a difference between taking time to produce an item, and having a large backorder. They knew they would get a high level of response, to me this is reacting to say they would have them available as a CYA move. If you would have told me 1-2 months, I would have said no problem, its free, I can wait - i am sure they had a lot of response. But 5 months is a long time for a production run.

So they should have not released them in April, instead stockpiling adapters for a few months and then say in July let people request them? OK.

Your order number showed when you ordered.

So 1-2 months is fine, but 5 months is too long to produce any quantity of anything? Or just 80,000 free adapters? Nobody likes to wait. I get it. But people who ordered early don’t have to wait 5 months. Sorry, that’s how being at the end of the line works.

just got my MME last week.
think you're looking the wrong direction.
Welcome and congratulations on or new Mach-E, you deserve an apology for your less than friendly welcome here.

Given others have reported October deliveries, your September delivery date might be an improvement. If you need to use Tesla superchargers this summer, many have purchased the A2Z or Lectron NACS adapter to start using them now.

Thank you so much, I truly appreciate it and very much try to be a good member in these types of forums, and provide constructive information to help people learn, share, and enjoy their [fill in the blanks] (vehicles, technology, etc.).

For the most part, this forum has been great and very helpful as I look to expand my knowledge on my MME. Already loving the vehicle despite a few minor quirks

There are something like 80,000 orders. Why did you wait so long to order? Poor planning.
I’d add that’s for Ford alone. They also have to make adapters for Rivian, GM, and other everyone else. Elon does have things to do besides make adapters for other automakers. (NOT defending Elon here, just stating a fact.)

I am guessing this is being produced by some other firm based on the license and specification owned by Tesla in the form of NACS

I submitted my form last week and the notification says September shipment. Is it really that far behind for ford to send me an adapter? Crazy.
I submitted my order/request on March 8, and I also show September as est delivery. So, if you just ordered yours, and also have Sept, I'd say that's pretty good.

The first Rivian owners have received their notification of an adapter ready to ship. Would it be incorrect to say that Ford got just one batch of NACS adapters shipped in April to some April and a few lucky May confirmations?

With just a few days left in April to make the April group happy, wondering if they are falling behind on the shipping estimates and leaving some April orders unfulfilled? Sure hope Tesla did let go 10% of the NACS adapter group when they should be ramping up production.
I have an April estimated date and no adapter.

Well said @generaltso

@Aahhcc11 if you think waiting till Sept is not good, try waiting 14 months for a Mach E.

That's my wait time after: model change, year change, trim change, 2 VINs, derailment replacement.....

I'd say for a free adapter, you can't complain.

For me, I needed the Tesla Supercharger access so I ordered one from A2Z and for the past month has been working flawlessly.

Honestly. That.
Except the chain starts with Tesla making the adapter, but 10's of thousands of them, shipping them to Ford (logistics) and Ford actually unboxing 10's of thousands of boxes (intake) and putting them in boxes and shipping them to 10's of thousands of addresses (logistics) and UPS etc actually delivering them. The chain of loss is big on this one. Many a place for it to get stalled and go wrong. Plus we go back top Musk's impeccable time line estimates. I figure the April batch could actually be built by Tesla sometime in May. Add 2 to 4 week for each step after that.
For what shoulda been a plain ass drop ship direct from Tesla. But then Tesla would have our addresses and we'd miss out on the Ford provided cute box that'll get tossed.

Rivian has not actually shipped any yet, they sent an email asking for confirmation of a shipping address, within 60 days. It also appears only owners with a VIN<1k got those emails.

Keeping fingers crossed ours shows up next week. April was the estimate for ours and we are taking a trip into Canada the first weekend of May and it seems Superchargers on the route are our best bet. Not critical enough to buy another adapter for one trip, but was looking forward to trying it out.

Just glad the adapters are free and actually moving. Was certainly not something I expected when we got the MME so no room to complain.
