SSM 52498 - 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E - "1 Pedal Drive Fault - Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" Warning Message Displayed In The IPC With DTC P0C2F:92 Stored In The SOBDMC
Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a "1 Pedal Drive Fault - Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after a recent powertrain software update was received. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0C2F:92 may also be stored in the secondary on-board diagnostic module-C (SOBDMC). This concern may also be present when One Pedal Drive mode is enabled. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected by early May 2024. Replacement or reprogramming of SOBDMC and/or the PCM will not resolve this condition. Module reprogramming in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) has been temporarily suspended for powertrain modules. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS), OASIS, and FSA landing pages for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.
----End SSM----
Some vehicles with recent software updates may intermittently experience a 1-pedal drive fault due to a torque monitor calculation error in the PCM. When this occurs, you must switch to using the brake pedal to slow the car down instead of letting off the accelerator pedal (regen is disabled). Acceleration may also be limited while the error is active. This is a temporary glitch, you can pull over, turn the car off, then back on again to clear the error and resume normal operation. You may also switch off 1-pedal and use 2-pedal drive instead to avoid the error. Fix expected in early May.
UPDATE: The fix is available now: TSB 24-2187 - 1 Pedal Drive Fault Warning Message, P0C2F:92 Stored In The SOBDMC
