SSM 52498 - 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E - "1 Pedal Drive Fault - Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" Warning Message Displayed In The IPC With DTC P0C2F:92 Stored In The SOBDMC

Some 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E vehicles may exhibit a "1 Pedal Drive Fault - Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" warning message displayed in the instrument panel cluster (IPC) after a recent powertrain software update was received. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) P0C2F:92 may also be stored in the secondary on-board diagnostic module-C (SOBDMC). This concern may also be present when One Pedal Drive mode is enabled. This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected by early May 2024. Replacement or reprogramming of SOBDMC and/or the PCM will not resolve this condition. Module reprogramming in the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) has been temporarily suspended for powertrain modules. Monitor Professional Technician System (PTS), OASIS, and FSA landing pages for additional information and schedule service appointments for customers once the repair becomes available.

----End SSM----

Some vehicles with recent software updates may intermittently experience a 1-pedal drive fault due to a torque monitor calculation error in the PCM. When this occurs, you must switch to using the brake pedal to slow the car down instead of letting off the accelerator pedal (regen is disabled). Acceleration may also be limited while the error is active. This is a temporary glitch, you can pull over, turn the car off, then back on again to clear the error and resume normal operation. You may also switch off 1-pedal and use 2-pedal drive instead to avoid the error. Fix expected in early May.

UPDATE: The fix is available now: TSB 24-2187 - 1 Pedal Drive Fault Warning Message, P0C2F:92 Stored In The SOBDMC

Need your opinion Mach-Lee..............

Got an email from Ford stating my recall parts are available. I scheduled appointment for this Thursday morning. I reached out to my service writer about whether they can actually do the recall but have not heard back yet. In your opinion do you think they will actually perform the recall or put me off?

I'm not mach-lee, but to answer your question... No, the dealer cannot/should not do this work.

The software update that goes along with the the recall work is known to cause this one-pedal error, so Ford has told dealers to halt the powertrain recall work.

I have a few revisions to the SSM…

SSM 52498 - 2021-2023 Mustang Mach-E - "1 Pedal Drive Fault - Press Brake Pedal To Reduce Speed" Warning Message Displayed In The IPC With DTC P0C2F:92 Stored In The SOBDMC

This condition does not affect vehicle durability and no additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition at this time, provided that it didn’t cause you to rear-end somebody. Inform customers that they can continue to drive the vehicle, provided that the customer is not injured/dead and the car is still drivable after any possible collision, and engineering is currently working on a solution for this condition that is expected by early May 2024 or “Soon,” whichever is later.

Get a new dealer if they make you come in and don't know about this being on hold yet.

I am curious as well, especially since the email came from Ford and not the dealer. My HVBJB recall appointment is next week. If my dealer doesn’t cancel me, I’ll just keep the appointment and keep an eye on one pedal mode. I’m not afraid to use the brake pedal if needed. ?

Can you confirm with your sources that this would also cause the uncommanded drive mode changes I'm seeing now? This is an old problem that got fixed a while back successfully, but has now re-emerged.

At this point do we have a list of borked module versions or anything what so ever to try to figure out the group that's actually got to worry about not using 1pd anymore?
I had my car done back in march and havn't had 1pd kick out ever. (that i can remember and I'm pretty sure I would remember it)

I have limited options here........so........I'm trying to educate them.....not having much luck ?‍♂

This particular dealer is 1:15 away, the dealer 45min from me has burned their bridge, next dealer is 1:30..........I just don't have many options

I wouldn’t make the drive until you see an update from Mach-Lee, they can’t do these recalls until the new Powertrain software is out. Just trying to save you some time.

After a phone call, turns out they can't even get the part until the end of May and have no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the software issue that goes along with it.

I guess I'll just drive this car for another 2yrs with an open recall and sell it then

Based on this I am guessing that they will start doing the recalled again at the end of May or early june.

Perhaps...........they offered to make an appointment for May 28. I chose not to at this time. I'll just wait and see....................
