So looks like they are just performing every module update on your vehicle. It would partially explain why you don’t have a reliable status available. They have been at it for the last 4 hours. Currently still going.

Congrats, at least you’ll have bluecruise 1.4 when you get it back!
Are you telling me that if I use FDRS to update everything on my currently-still-BC1.0 2021 GTPE, I can “force” an upgrade to BC1.4? If so, awesome. I’d already planned to do that as soon as the issue in this thread was ironed out.

No, because the features like auto lane change will not be enabled. Using FDRS you get newer software but it will have the same functionality as now. Going further requires custom editing of configuration files which is for advanced users only and is not recommended unless you really know what you're doing.

Just before it was paused dealer performed the recall and applied the PCM updates, when I got car back it loss around 1.5-2sec 0-60 acceleration 2021 AWD ER, also on the max power it seems to be topping out at 230kw nowhere close to the spec of 258kw. Ran these tests, using car scanner at 92% SOC and later 62%. Dealer said they have identified a bug and working to fix. Not sure if anyone else noticed this?

FYI maximum power is dependent on battery temperature and SoC. The battery must be fully warmed up to get maximum power. That means 25ºC or higher. Precondition to a DC charger, then run your test again with 90%+ SoC and 25ºC minimum battery temps.

Will give it a go again, interested to see the difference, but its not been the same since the update never had to find a goldilocks zone before

Yes it is goldilocks we are looking for ;) Keep us posted if you find her.

Makes sense to slow it down and limit power not to burn out the HVJB. Would not be the first time they slow down a system so it does not melt.

You’d have the software for bc 1.4, with the features just turned off. Like Mach Lee said you could enable them if you really wanted to but I won’t steer you in one way or another.

I would still do the updates because even basic things like the lane centering work WAY better on 1.4 compared to 1.0.

2022 Prem AWD ER. I was scheduled for the 23S56 and 23B50 service 2 weeks ago. Dropped off car at dealer 4/28, then saw this thread about the hold. Called dealer Monday 4/29 AM, they did not know of any hold. They completed the recall 4/30, apparently installed the correct E rev HVBJB. claimed to have "reprogrammed the system" as specified in recall, returned the car to me. Asked again about hold, they said there was no hold.

Notes for 23B50 say, there are no updates for this program so I believe they did nothing for this one.

I usually drive with 1PD, and no faults so far.

PM to "Ford" here did not give me any additional info or insight into what happened.

My Ford account dashboard still shows both recalls in the same state - HVBJB "incomplete, remedy not yet available". I did get the Ford email 4/29 that said parts were now available for it.

Is this dealer and/or Ford just clueless? Is there any way I can verify what modules were or were not updated per the recall (I have carscanner and forscan) or if I should investigate more into what was done and if if should have been done or should NOT have been done?

Thanks,
John

BMS needs time to learn the state of charge, park the car undisturbed for 8 hours (not charging either) and check it again tomorrow. Quit FordPass on your phone during this time so not to wake it up.

If that doesn't fix it, let me know so we reset something else.
That seems to have done it! Thanks! On the Ford.com account page, it now shows a normal reading on the 12V battery.

I was scheduled to have the JB recall completed this past Wednesday on my 22 GT but cancelled the appointment Monday because of the module update freeze.

Then the JB failed on Tuesday! Had the car towed to a dealer that afternoon and they confirmed the failure Wednesday. I've been pushing Mach-Lee's guidance to the Service rep these past few days but was told by Service this morning "We've spoken with Ford (?) and Ford won't allow a replacement JB to be shipped to us to repair this car's failed JB. Ford said do nothing with the car until the module software glitch is resolved."

So I have a 2024 Escape ST Line loaner until Ford resolves the glitch.

Sounds like I'm in the same boat as a lot of people. My car is in the shop currently for the HVBJB recall after it failed and had to be towed and now the car is stuck in limbo until this other issue is solved. Super frustrating since it has been in the shop for almost a month now...

I was told the same information by my dealer too. They said ford wasn't communicating with them too as the only way they knew of the issue was because my parts didn't show up when they thought it would.

Thank you for this post. I received an email from FORD yesterday telling me to schedule an appointment for the HVBJB replacement, but the service shop told me they couldn't get and didn't know the reason. Appreciate you updating this post once the hold is released.
UPDATE 5/7/2024: Got a call from my dealership and they were able to order the HVBJB replacement online today!

There were a couple of new powertrain updates issued through FDRS last week. The hold is still officially on, however. It is unknown whether the powertrain updates issued last week solve either the 1PD or the drive mode issues. ?‍♂?

@Mike G applied these updates to his car and I am waiting until he shakes his car down before I even consider popping them into mine. ??
