Any way to find a mechanic in the Los Angeles area who would work with my obd2 and FORScan to troubleshoot and customize? I don’t have a pc and can’t seem to get FORScan to work on Parallel virtual windows 11 on my MacBook. The Ford service centers (the 3 that I’ve been to) seem to not deal with any changes having to be made that aren’t physical (seals, tires, brakes). I need to get to the bottom of this issue I’m having and was hoping maybe FORScan could solve it as I’m out of options.

Every time I’m in the car my ears close up. Technically my eustachian tubes I’ve come to learn. It’s not unlike an altitude change or more closely like noise cancelling headphones but much worse. Doesn’t happen in any other car. I’ve made countless adjustments to the trunk stoppers, and most other things based on issues people discuss about their model y’s. But I honestly don’t think it’s anything physical with the car. It’s been said there’s no noise cancellation in the 23 premium 4xe but it’s literally exactly what it feels like. And the effects are pretty lasting. If I take a longish ride I feel ear discomfort the whole next day. I thought I would get used to it but it’s been 2 months. The other day a friend came for a ride and mentioned that his ears closed up after 5 mins or so. I adore the car I just don’t want to be in it. I’ve had electric cars before and tested 4 different Mach e’s before leasing this one with no issues. I’m just stuck.

There is no noise suppression. I cannot imagine anything that FORScan could do.

Ok thank you. This is such an unexpected problem. I’ll have to figure out how to get it off my hands then. Just never thought it would come to that. It just feels like such an unnatural thing for your ears to close up while driving slowly on a flat surface.

Does it only happen when you run the radio? If it is air pressure related
you could try cracking a window and see if that helps.

Thank you. I’ve tried I think everything. It does feel air pressure related maybe but I’ve cracked 1-4 windows, windows all the way down, no radio, recycled AC and not, AC off, air off completely. Added soundproof foam around the liftgate, rubber sealant around lifgate, then removed. I thought it was the open trunk area since I’ve only ever owned sedans but most problems I’ve found online are with the Tesla Y and this car feels like it’s built way better. There’s no sound irritation at all. It’s very quiet, which is part of the baffling part.

There’s an old Kids in the Hall sketch where the husband is going to work but his car won’t start and he looks around and kicks the tire and tries it again, then he washes the windshield and tries it again. It’s very funny. That’s what I feel like I’m doing sometimes;)

Does the car have to be moving to cause the problem?
Here's another crazy thing to try, Radio amplifier has a problem and is putting out a very low frequency ( inaudible ) that is affecting your ears.
Try putting your finger or something on the speakers to see if you feel a low freq. vibration.

First, I suggest visiting an ear doctor to have your ears checked. You may have ear wax buildup, or a drain/pressure equalization problem.

Also, have you tried turning the propulsion sound on and off? That helps some people.

I suggest using AUTO HVAC settings whenever possible.

Other people have experienced ear issues: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/mach-e-hurts-my-ears.12565/

I'm not sure why, but I suspect it's a combination of biology and vehicle bass frequency response that causes some kind of issue for a small number of people.

I have gone to an ear clinic and an ENT then just concluded that this only happens in this car. When I don’t drive for a bit it’s gone, if I drive another car it’s fine so it just seems too coincidental that this all started and resurfaces when driving in this car. Thanks for that link, I did go through it all a few weeks ago and contributed to it. I know it’s a sensitivity but I can’t fathom that there’s no solution but maybe I’m wrong

I was able to connect the obd connected with an older laptop running boot camp so I’ll see what kind of damage I can do

Wow! Homestead I finally tested the finger on multiple speakers and did feel vibration. The car was on and in park. I shut the lights off, no audio, and silenced as much as I could and could feel the vibration. I put my ear to it but couldn’t hear anything. It goes along with the fact that it always seems to be there. If it is this low frequency issue is there something I can do about it?
