Hey everyone, I just got my pony about a month ago and I love it! I'm looking to possibly add Rally springs and Eibach sway bars to smooth out the ride on my 2025 MME select. Wondering if anyone here has recommendations for mechanics in Ventura county that are trustworthy and have some experience in this? Thank you!

Hey Sam, I see Ken pinged me about your question. I actually don't recommend installing Rally springs on a '25 and later. Ford changed the spring rates on the '25 Mach-E's to be much softer than the earlier models. They are almost as soft as the Rally's but not quite. So changing to Rally springs will only give you a very minor improvement. Changing out your sway bars with the Eibach's will improve the handling for sure and a very slight improvement in ride. The Rally springs will also raise your car about 1". Some people really like this as they rarely have to worry about hitting curbs or parking bumpers but others don't like the look of a lifted Mach-E.

If you have seen my thread on the Rally Springs/Eibach Sway Bars (https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...-springs-eibach-sway-bars-members-list.52730/), you will notice out of the 53 members we know of that have done this, only one had a '25 and that did happen to be Ken. He wanted the best ride he could get even if it meant just a slight improvement. So bottom line, while I and many others believe it is worth the cost to go with this mod, on a '25 and later, I personally don't believe it is. It is all up to you.

However I have recommended having the Eibach Sway Bars installed on all trims for a few years now. They really tighten up the handling and slightly reduce the bounce because of the way they are mounted to the body. Best exterior/suspension mod you can do.

Sam, to add to what @markboris said, the reason the Eibach bars will very slightly make the ride better is that Ford vulcanizes the frame bushings to the factory anti-sway bars where the aftermarket bars free float in their bushings. To top it off, the factory frame bushings are fused to the bars with a preload. This effectively ties up the suspension somewhat and increases impact harshness. 😁🐩

Lawrd, I'd hate to have a pre-2025 if the 2025's suspension was that much improved that the Rally springs aren't that much better...I have a friend at work that has a 2022 that I have yet to ride in. I'll have to rectify that this week, I'll bring along my kidney belt I use dirt bike riding...... 😅

Looking forward to your assessment of his car's suspension. I had a '21 Premium that was awful. Then a '21 GTPE which was much better since it had MagneRide. Now a '24 GTP with Rally springs and Eibach sway bars and it is just like the Escape I had. Maybe a bit softer.

I'm in San Diego at my nieces and been riding in the back of her X3 and it is a terrible bumpy ride.

I'll bring my helmet as well, need to be fully protected.

You mentioned the spring rates were changed on the 25's but the overall length? I don't recall if we took a picture of the 2 springs side by side. From what I recall, which isn't as accurate as it's been in the past  , I thought the OEM's were smaller. I'm only familiar with dirt bike suspension (I just changed the fork seals and went up 2 spring rates over the weekend on my new Husky). I wonder what the spring rates are between the 2025 OEM and the Rally's and how the length differences plays into the overall change

Length of the spring really does not matter since you can have a shorter spring that is firmer that will keep the ride height taller than a taller spring that is softer (lower spring rate).

Pre-'25 spring rates for Premium 205/885 and Pre-'24 for GT 228/970
Rally spring rates (all years) 183/627
'25-'26 spring rates for Premium 193/692 (I don't have GT spring rates for '24 and up)

Height of the Premium has not changed from '21-'26. Roughly 64".

I don't follow the logic. When adding the Rally springs to my 2025 it raised the car, correct? This additional height with a softer spring rate would give you more travel thereby giving you a "softer" ride" wouldn't it?

Yes it would. I just meant taller springs don’t necessarily mean a softer ride if the spring rate is firmer. Like a F350 spring is 6 inches taller than your rear springs but MUCH firmer.

I get what you are saying, yea if a spring is taller but stiffer that would be a harsher ride but in this instance the Rally springs are taller and softer. The OEM springs on the 2025 are definitely softer than previous years based on the numbers you have so the impact would be more prominent in the pre 2025. That being said it is still a benefit going to a taller spring that is softer.
