Yes, I know there are already threads about this. Yes, I've read them and tried the fixes... to no avail... so here goes...
A while back I noticed the welcome lighting wasn't working anymore. After researching, reading, and trying the following, I still can't get walk away lock or welcome lighting to work. I'd bet that the core issue is walk away locking not working. I've verified it's not working by leaving the car in the parking lot (a good 200 yards from my office) all day to return to an unlocked car.
Troubleshooting steps so far, in sequential order:
1. turned welcome lighting, walk away lock, and mirror fold off then back on in the settings
2. pulled the negative lead from the 12V battery, left it off for 30 minutes, and cycled the door locks until they wouldn't cycle anymore
3. pulled fuse 17 and left it out while the 12V lead was disconnected, and only plugged it back in after the 12V negative lead was reconnected.
4. turned welcome lighting, walk away lock, and mirror fold off then back on in the settings after reconnecting the battery
While I'm frustrated enough to want it fixed, I can only imagine how long the dealership would want/need the car. Given I commute 90 miles a day, and they never give loaners, I'm disinclined to give it to the dealership without a clear diagnostic and repair path.
Thoughts?
