'Save' your custom dashboard
  1. open CarScanner
  2. Settings -> Dashboard , scroll to bottom, click 'Save' button
  3. This creates a file 'dashboard.json' ; Carscanner gives you options on where to save/share the configuration file. You can share to email, and email it to yourself or someone else, or you may be able to share directly to MyFiles app and put it directly into your Downloads folder.

'Restore' custom dashboard
  1. open CarScanner
  2. Settings -> Dashboard , scroll to bottom, click 'Restore' button
  3. Navigate to downloads folder, select 'dashboard.json', you will see a check
  4. click on 'Select' in upper-right
...this will return you to the Dashboard Setting screen without any obvious confirmation, but restored Dashboard settings *should* be in effect the next time you back out to the Carscanner home screen, and click on the Dashboard function.

Unfortunately, there is no way I am aware of to share/restore just one Dashboard screen. For instance, I have one screen that I like for general use, but if I share my file, and you Restore it on your phone, it will overwrite ALL your (17) dashboard screens. If someone knows how to Save, share, and Restore one screen, please post how!

as an example.... here is the demo snapshot of what I typically display on my dashboard screen (5/17):

Ford Mustang Mach-E HowTo - Save / Share / Restore CarScanner Dashboard dashboard-240516

and attached is the configuration file, with .txt tacked on the end so I can attach here on this forum. If you want to use it, you will need to download and rename to remove the .txt extension before attempting to 'Restore' it in Carscanner.

If no further confirmation was needed, it probably got uploaded? Did you open the Dashboard screens to check it?

I did select , but as I said above, it does not appear to import and the custom screen (4/17) was not loaded... hence my question.

Just tested (on Android phone) - added a blank car in My Cars, custom dashboard uploads correctly (without confirmation).

Maybe try it on your old phone, before sending file to the new one?

well.... my custom dashboard on the old phone was screen 4/16... I 'saved' and emailed the dashboard.json to myself.

I then opened email and saved the dashboard.json file to my 'downloads' folder on the new phone.

then opened CarScanner->settings->dashboard-> clicked Restore
navigated to downloads folder, selected dashboard.json

but then there is no 'go' button.... when I back out of the dashboard settings and run demo mode, and click on dashboard, none of the available default example screens are my custom one.
