I am not my cousin? I think you meant their cousin.

I was/am only confused on your grammar.

I am good.
No, I meant my cousin, are you really a teacher, your grasp of basic grammar is a little lacking?

That post was a response to someone talking about an electric Explorer
Yeah, I was referring to the image of the vehicle and how that could never be considered a “Mustang”. No family resemblance in looks, innovation or power whatsoever. If Farley meant they’d never build a vehicle in that vein and called it a Mustang.

Believe-the-science ???

You’re just proving my point. ?‍♂

It’s just like the Mustang Mach E. While its “scientific name” might be “Mustang,” it isn’t one. A green bean is a legume, but isn’t a real bean as proven by all the other sites I already posted including the government one.

Feel free to google which part of the strawberry is the “fruit” as well.

There can be a difference between a scientific name and what something actually is.

And on a related note: scientists often disagree on things. Including how to categorize things.

I would say both. Either of those labels is perfectly applicable to my car. Perhaps I am missing the subtle distinction you are drawing?
Ok, I will explain, I am now totally confused and wondering if you own 2 cars, both a Mustang and a Mustang Mach E.

You asked earlier, "how deep does it need to go", well I say, it just needs to go as deep as the name of the vehicle. By you being a little coy in your response I now have no idea what you own.

And, this is why trying to call a Mustang Mach E a mere Mustang is confusing, exactly as to the point @Mach1E was trying to make.

So, I will ask again, do you own a Mustang Mach E or do you own a Mustang? If you respond again with "both" then that would mean you own one of each. ?‍♀

Not the same. Porsche is a brand. 911 is a model.

Mustang is a model

Mustang Mach E is a separate model.

GT, S, turbo S are trim lines.

These are very clear distinctions.
There are many names/models for the Mustang:

Ford Mustang Coupe
Ford Mustang Convertible
Ford Mustang GT
Ford Mustang II
Ford Mustang Fastback
Ford Mustang IMSA
Ford Mustang GT 350
Ford Mustang Cobra
Ford Mustang Dark Horse
Ford Mustang Bullitt

to name a few

And wait for it........................... Ford Mustang Mach E

They are all in the same Family but obviously look different.

You could get a Ford LTD in both a 4 door and 2 door back in the day. Which one was not an LTD?

You don't understand taxonomy. And you don't understand science.

I can't help you any further.
I understand it well enough to know that taxonomy isn’t the end all for categorizing things.

It’s one way, it’s not the only way.

It’s a good thing too. You could poison your family eating beans and legumes (yup another article pointing out they’re two different things) the wrong way. Even though the taxonomy would be unchanged.

So close.

You listed a whole bunch of trims and then a completely different model.

The whole list are parts of different generations of the Mustang. Except the last one which is categorized on its own.

Yes. Still part of “the family.” No one is arguing that point.
