Range will definitely be impacted.

When we replaced our PHEV with non LRR, non OEM tires and being RFT - the range loss was about 10%.
I agree. Also there could be a rolling resistance difference between the tires that adds to the range loss. Wider does not always mean less range. On my car, the 255s I put on are more efficient than the 245 OEM tires I replaced.

Given a similar load rating and no change in rim width, you will need to decrease the tire pressure for proper tread contact with the pavement. For a 225-245 change I would guess a 3-5 psi decrease, and for a 225-255 change I would say 5-7 psi decrease. I had to go to 37 from 39 on an increase from 245 to 275 but a rim width change from 8-9.5”. ?‍♂?

This is my favorite site to play with different sizes. It will also convert pressure.

Wanted to throw in a little fun thing.

275/45/19"s will have the exact same specs as the original 225/55/19 except for width.

Seriously. I'm contemplating on replacing all rims to lighter 8.5" wheels and upgrade to the 275/45/19 on every wheel. I may only do the back for the tires but I'm not sure

I'll update when I make a decision and find a wheel that's worth it
I’m running 255/45/20 all the way around on aftermarket 8 1/2 inch wheels and they stick out as far as I want them to. I’m at the point where I don’t even think I could comfortably lower the car and inch a few people do here putting different spring set up on the car, 275 on the back might be good, but that’s pretty wide upfront. I don’t know if you have some rubbing just my opinion.

Damn. Your 255s look like they stick out more than my 275s. @AOSK mud flaps for reference. I probably will need to switch to wider mud flaps since I could hear water hitting my doors after the change. ??

I see a real SUV in the background!
It’s not one of those #NoTaBlAzEr things. Full-size, removable top, manual transfer case, manual tranny. ??

You can run over small trees with that. Awesome.
LOL I have run over small imports with it. Idiots seem to love to cut that monster off. ??

i researched the crap out of this a while back, and arrived at the 245/50/19s being max on factory rims.
a decent set of aftermarket 8.5" rims is about $850 cdn, so when these factorys wear out I have to see how wide a tire I want to consider.

on the other hand, narrower tires work better in snow ....... so likely stick with stock or 245 all seasons on factory wheels.

or go summer/winter sets on a new set of rims with the old
