I'm on Android, once I reach target charge the "Start" button appears on home screen. Agree, I would rather it be labelled "Charge to 100%"

I'm less concerned with the label, and more annoyed that I have to wait for it to reach the target charge level before I can open the app (probably hours later, if I even remember) and hit the start button again to restart it up to 100 for that one charge only.

Previously I could park, plug in, and immediately hit the dedicated "charge to 100%" button and it would take care of the rest.

It’s right on the front page, top right. Starts it going to 100, and stops it you’ve told it to go to 100.
What could be more obvious? How do people not know that is the dictionary definition of the word "start"? Must be English is not their first language. We must be patient with them.

You'd just have to set the slider to 100%, no need to wait. I understand they were trying to consolidate all the buttons into a single slider control, but it can be confusing.

Yes, I understand that is the other option. But then I have to remember to change the slider back before my next charge, else I will have a 100% charged car that I may not drive much for a few days, and I’m trying to be a good battery dad.

At least this post confirmed I’m not missing something, and they just simply removed (or unhelpfully-changed for aesthetic purposes) the control in the old app that was working perfectly fine for the actual thing I needed it to do.

'Start' could also mean 'start the car, turn on the heat or air-conditioning'.

That’s exactly what I thought it meant until I read this thread.
Also, I wish the charge to 100% button was still there too, for all the excellent reasons cited by the OP.

Glad I read this. Not going to update the app until they force me to.

Yeah I didn’t choose to update, it just switched on me one day. It’s largely a fine update, this was just an odd functionality regression.

The button on the upper right is contextual and only present while connected to an active EVSE. If the car is accepting power, the button is marked “Stop” and if the car is not accepting power it is marked “Start.” Useful in some ways, not in others. All in all, I think (for me) that the old “Charge to 100%” idiom works better than being able to pause charging or start charging. YMMV. ?‍♂?

My target charge is set to 90%, and I came home with low range and wanted to start the charge prior to my normal set schedule. I pressed Start Charging and the screen showed it was going to charge to 100%. If I moved the slider to less than 100% it immediately stopped charging. WTF Ford?
