OK makes sense so I suppose if I have my scanner plugged into my computer port and it shows the battery temperature what would that battery temp be? For instance what would be a good temperature? Thank you.If you are heading to a charger destination using the Ford Nav, the car will be getting ready ahead of time to enable the max charge rate. Aka precondition.
There is also cabin preconditioning which you choose with scheduled departure times. These are unrelated actions, despite sharing similar names.
I you use an alternate nav system, the car will not perform the preconditioning steps.
The reason I say to always precondition the battery is because you won’t know the current battery temp — driving for a while, even hours could still be below optimal temp.
Earlier this month, it was 60 deg F ambient and I still set the nav to DCFC. It’s most important to do during winter, but I say do it all the time just to be sure.
