My order number is lower than the ones mentioned in the thread, but no shipping information yet.

Maybe they ship first to people who tend to DC charge. I don't., and have only DC charged at EVgo and Electrify to be sure plug & charge works well. :)

I went and bought an A2Z adaptor
I did, too. It looks like the Ford/Tesla adapter might lock the J3400 handle a little more easily than the A2Z locking method.

We'll find out sooner or later, eh.

Something I like about the A2Z adapter is how the little cushioned storage case fits into the side storage compartment in the rear trunk.

I’m #19,000 something, so I ordered a A2Z

was supposed to be a July shipment but I seriously doubt that date because of the stuff going on.
Mine is 90075100. I guess that translates to 75100 in the order queue. It still says September, 2024 for estimated shipping. That seems highly unlikely! I think my estimated ship date should be changed to either “Sometime “ or “Maybe” or “Don’t hold your breath”. It’s not Ford’s fault. It’s just what it is. I don’t have big summer travel plans requiring a SC so I’ll just wait it out. Perhaps when September rolls around after the summer travel season we’ll have a better idea of whether supply will catch up to or meet demand. If it still looks hopeless, then maybe I’ll spring for an A2Z or Lectron in anticipation of winter ski travel season! ⛷❄ (That’s presuming we have a season approximating winter within reasonable driving distance…)

Yep. I doubt they really had a good idea before the Tesla layoffs either. Thus why the rest of the Aprils and all the May's just got pushed to "June", and everything from June on didn't get updated at all because they really don't have anything solid from Tesla to go on. Even before the layoffs, the info they were getting from Tesla was either wrong or severely lacking. Probably both now.

And Tesla is so secretive that we'll likely never hear a peep out of them on what the real holdup is, and when to expect production to resume/increase. I did see one comment from someone on X that claimed Tesla has a batch now waiting to ship but the layoffs interrupted the shipping arrangements. Maybe that's true too, but there were already serious delays long before that. Ford surely counted on thousands arriving in March to fulfill April deliveries. Then thousands more in April for May deliveries, and so on. There were over 80,000 orders with delivery dates spread out to Oct. And that's just Ford.

Ford's in a tough spot, having promised all these free adapters. They still need Tesla for access to the SCs, so I'm not sure changing suppliers from Tesla to A2Z would be a good idea. A2Z is max'd out trying to keep up with orders as it is, with 3-4 week lead times. Not sure they have the capacity to crank out thousands in a few weeks to get Ford back on track. Ford's probably just gonna have to live with the Tesla arrangement and the delays, and hope Tesla gets their sh*t together soon.
I think you’re right on all counts although I’m not sure the strategy of hoping “Tesla gets their sh*t together” passes the smell test.?

Yeah, I think the highest number I saw was less than 900 or perhaps in the 900s (discounting the out of sequence shipments). ?‍♂?

Agreed on both points. UL should not be hard for a passive item like this. Submission of the bill of materials, mechanical drawings showing clearances, samples for measurement and possible drop test (unlikely the drop test would be necessary), HiPot testing (and documentation that HiPot testing will take place on the line). This should take less than a month to accomplish and not be horribly expensive. ??

sigh....

ping the thread when things start getting delivered again ?!
I've got a long wait past 'July' methinks.

My money is on the second wave of adapters shipping before the Summer 2023 BC update. Then again, IDC about BC since I would never use it and my car is hardware-incompatible, so I am actively rooting for Adapter Wave 2. ??

How did Ford NOT KNOW how slow these would be delivered?

They were probably given a delivery schedule, which they probably thought was good so they created a shipping schedule. The shipping schedule got SNAFU’d when the fulfillment company shipped half of the first wave out of order. Then, the delivery schedule got borked when Tesla lost the entire Supercharger team. ?‍♂?

In part, yes. But Tesla was way behind before the April 30 layoffs too. Ford would have needed (and was surely promised) thousands more than they got well before April 30 to meet the April and May customer delivery schedules.

Agreed that Tesla was likely short on their original schedule for April. I have order 3242 and was originally a May estimate (delayed to June). Tesla was probably short about a thousand units for April deliveries to Ford given that nearly half of the first wave went to out of order shipments, given that orders up into the 900s have been received, plus the orders in the 8000s that were shipped out of order. Not exactly sure of the lowest April estimate’s number that got delayed into June, but Tesla is going to have to deliver a boat load of adapters to Ford this month in order for Ford to make good on the original April and May estimates. I am unfortunately guessing that some of the May delayed to June estimates will be delayed again. ??

I am planning a road trip to Oregon in early July, my adaptor says June and previously said May, it was reserved on 2/29 and is 4xxx. I'm beginning to think I need to order an alternative, not sure how long that takes. I'd like to use up my remaining EA credits, but not a lot of EA chargers in Oregon. I want to go to Crater Lake for one place, and not much in that area.

Tesla is going to have to deliver a boat load of adapters to Ford this month - Thanks I needed that laugh this morning.

You’re welcome Eric. I placed my reservation in the first hour or two (05:30 Pacific) and was originally a May estimate. I am not optimistic that it will ship in June since I don’t think the boat load will appear (maybe a shoebox load). ?‍♂?
