After months of waiting (and receiving several letters to tell me to book in) my car finally went in for its recall notice last week. I booked it in 3 weeks ago at my local dealer for the works to be carried out and was told it would take 2 days for the works to be done.

Dropped the car off at 07.30 in the morning and carried on with my day. Got a call from the dealer at 11.00am to say they had done a health check on my car and for me to call them back. Phoned back at just before 12 to be told that the other issue reported (front camera sensor issues) had been fixed, it was a software issue apparently, however, they didn't have the parts for the recall!

When collecting my car the next day, the service dept. showed me the notes from Ford UK that there are no parts available with no timeframe for when they are due back in stock. Also, one part for the recall is priced at £1011 to the dealer!

So, picked my car back up and will wait to hear back from the dealer when the parts become available. Anyone else had this or have had their recall notice completed?

The silver lining to all of this, I was offered a mach e as a courtesy car however, I got the use of a brand new Ranger Wildtrack for 48hours! When mine goes back in, I've asked for the Ranger again!

Oh No! They're trying to tempt you back to the dark side. I doubt that a Wildtrack would fit in my drive.

This unfortunately adds further evidence to think that will my next car be a Ford? ? There's the Nottingham Car Show at Wollaton Hall next Sunday so I'll be able to compare and contrast with other makes and models. (All electric of course).

After Ford lifted the pause on the HVBJB recall due to software issues affecting 1 pedal driving, my car was picked up from my home yesterday and replaced with a loaner MME. The recall work is being done as I speak. Loaner is a Grabber Blue MME; amazing how much more conspicuous I feel in that than my Iconic Silver MME ?.

My car fully bricked it before they got it sorted I had warning on dash about the HVB and was told to go about my day as normal then car just shut down after I turned into Asda car park, the car was rolling so managed to get it into a bay and once fully stopped that was it bricked

Took ford 2 weeks to sort for me after horrendous ordeal with calling them constantly and using enterprise as a courtesy car (not premium btw got hit with a basic Hyundai Bayon)

But now sorted so I hope it stays that way.

I was annoyed at the dealer as asked me to collect car I was in meetings and couldn’t so partner went and got a call that the driver door looked damaged turns out one of the apprentices or something didn’t know the 12v battery was dead as well and pried the door open with something or smashed it against a wall that was the biggest issue with branch to be fair and the fact they supposedly had a GT model waiting for me to collect but ford did not mention this while I’m cutting about in a tin of beans

That seems absolutely ridiculous! When my dealer called me to collect my car that wasn't fixed, i was 250 miles away in the office and said it would have to be the next day! After some mumbling on the phone they said that would be "ok" !

Hope it all gets sorted soon..

Mines all sorted now thankfully and to be fair to Ford they have offered me compensation, nowhere near the amount for the time and the amount of called to ford rental / support (130 odd) but I’m just happy car is back, mines was paid cash so due to depreciation I’m keeping it for long haul and right now it is in the middle of being wrapped a berry blue satin ? hopefully will be ready Wednesday

I called dealership to book in for my HVBJB work this week (waited a couple of weeks after getting the letter to let the dealership practice on a few other cars before doing mine) … soonest they can do it is mid September!

They’re limited to doing one vehicle per week apparently.

Yes, my dealer told me the same, 1 per week so must be a Ford policy thing. I'll wait until they tell me they actually have the part. I'm sorry to say that I'll be visiting the Nottingham Motor Show at Wollaton Hall on Sunday and may be looking to cast the net wider for future reference once my extended warranty expires in 2026. I love this car but...niggles and recalls galore.

Well my vehicle was picked up from my home on Sunday evening and I was left with an equivalent spec Mach-E. Today my vehicle was returned to my home and the loaner picked up. The HVBJB recall was completed successfully as well as a replacement door latch to fix a door fault message I had been getting every time I started the car. Car is back to being perfect again. Tracy, the Mach-E lead at Peoples Ford in Bootle, Liverpool was fantastic and went above and beyond to pick up and deliver my vehicle at times that suited me. Can’t recommend her and the dealer enough. Great job and great service.

Can you imagine how different this forum would be if this was the brand norm?
It certainly reveals just how much variation is tolerated and still qualifying to display a Blue Oval out front.

The real recipe for that kind of experience is just people.

I have just over a year left on my car and while I do like the car, I am already starting to consider what to have next. Currently, on the list is the Kia EV9, the Fisker Ocean and maybe a return to ICE in the form of a 330e.
