Just got my A2Z Tesla Supercharger to Ford Mach E adapter……drove 50 km to try out at Whitewood Co-Op , only 3 of 5 chargers active. Adapter did not work in any of them. It seems the Tesla cord end and the matching A2Z adapter do not engage enough for the bottom latch to lock using the slide switch . Anyone else experience this? Really pissed at this point since I researched this to death and god only knows when Ford will deliver on their free adapter offer

Multiple threads on this issue. The first couple times you really have to apply some pressure to get the adapter onto the Tesla connector far enough to engage the lock switch on the bottom. After a few uses it loosens up.

Also, make sure the charger is compatible - you can check in Plugshare app that it is "Open to Non-Teslas."

Edit: Checked the Whitewood Co-op and it is compatible with non-Teslas. Just apply more pressure when connecting the adapter.

Tesla app will list locations as compatible with adapter that no one has changed the status on plug share. I would assume Tesla app is more accurate?

Plugshare is accurate and no need to install Elmo apps on my phone.

Ok. But I have the Elmo app and am looking at a charger Elmo says Ford is enabled and PlugShare says is not…..

Which is more accurate?

The A2Z needs get broken in.

It took me about 10-12 tries putting the A2Z onto and off the NACS plug before the sliding latch finally locked. Then it worked easily after that.

PlugShare is very good overall, but if you’re looking for a supercharger specifically, it’s good to have the Tesla app around even if you use P&C like I do. Where I’m at, neither Apple Maps nor PlugShare show me what it cost to charge. This is helpful in planning my route. If it’s cheaper, I’ll fill to 80 or higher, if not, I’ll do 50 and come back another time.

I've never had an issue with a combo of Ford's built in app and Plugshare. This is all YMMV. I'm just not interested in installing the Tesla app. That's just me, perhaps. I also dont road trip much, so perhaps if I did I would change my tune. The point is to use what works for you.

@Sikkun I would be interested to know specifically which charging location you are talking about that does not show on Plugshare but does show on the Tesla app. As you are aware, Plugshare is user sourced data so you may consider submitting an update if you find such a discrepancy.

For example. I’m aware that it’s user submitted. Which was really the only reason I’m bringing up that it’s not 100% accurate.

Fair warning. Good to know - I double checked my most recent interstate trip (had to install the Tesla app lol) and everything was accurate in Plugshare.

Were the Tesla prices accurate on Plugshare?

Pricing is largely irrelevant to me on a road trip so I did not spend much time on it. Charger location and function are paramount. Only time I checked prices was at a service center that had both EA and Tesla available - Tesla was a couple cents per kw/h cheaper.

Glad to hear that I’m not the only one who basically doesn’t care about DCFC pricing! It’s all about charger availability, speed, and amenities. Pricing is the lowest consideration because if I need the charge, i NEED the charge so I’ll pay whatever it is to keep moving on.

I used to not care about the price because three years ago, there was usually only one choice wherever you wanted to charge AND it used to be cheaper. NOW, there are places where there are viable choices of working chargers at different price points - what a concept - shopping around. At one of my usual stops, there is an unreliable and often full EA station that I have been avoiding, a reliable FP&L station at a good price point and now, a Tesla SC right across the lot as well. I’ll probably stick with the FP&L just based on the known reliability and cheap price.
