NACS adapter for vehicles not built yet

Wondering if anyone else has experience with this. I ordered a 2024 Mach-E this past April, I created a Ford account and I have a build date for the week of August 5th, 2024. My Ford account shows the new vehicle with a vin number, my account page also has a link to order the NACS adapter, however, when I click on the link all I get is the “oops” message (the page is not available). So i’m guessing you can’t get the adapter unless you physically own the vehicle. It seems Ford has eliminated the perks/incentives for new owners, no EV charging credit and no adapter. Very disappointing!!

So you want Ford to let you order a free adapter, that if you then don't take delivery, you don't need and it doesn't belong to you?

Right, they won't let you do that.

I am sure you can't order before it gets delivered to the customer since the order belongs to the dealer.

Since Ford extended the free adapter date to end of August, OP should be fine to still order one after delivery.

It’s a gift, so yes you can keep it.
