As you can imagine I'm extremely frustrated with trying to maintain calm for my family. Here is what happened to me after starting or vacation this morning, stopping at a Charge point DCFC (no problems) and then stopping at an EA charger in Clive, IA.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

These are my messages to @Ford Motor Company looking for advice as well.

Thank you very much. Really appreciate the link.
Not that it matters at this point but did your HVBJB fail in the past or get replaced under the recall?

When I took it in last November to the local dealership they told me not to change it yet due to supply chain and Ford told them to pause replacing it. When I got my recent 60k check-up they didn't mention replacing it.

At the EA station it happened at today, there were other makes/models that were having problems getting the chargers to start. While there was obviously an internal problem based on the recall, I really think there was a problem with the EA chargers there as well that exacerbated the issue. I had no problem at the ChargePoint DCFC just a couple hours earlier.

EA chargers will supply up to 160kW/hr, while most ChargePoint only supply 60kW/hr. This can stress the HVJB. Glad I got mine replaced months ago.

Same thing happened to us on day 2 of 4,700 mile trip. Cost me 14+ hourscharging at slow speeds. I am not convinced the hvbjb issue is solved.

But it does seem like actual failures have slowed down. For whatever reason.

Of course the recall has so many getting fresh contactors, maybe that's just preempting failures?

The HVBJB is likely. I was an early replacement, and joined the multiple replacement club. Thankfully it stopped at two. Same EA charger. Second time the charger went bang. Many here say it won’t be the charger. They replaced the whole back of chargers afterwards and have used them since with my newer HVB. It is much better and no issues since. Shame about the holiday but I’m picking you’ll be better off with the replacement.
“Hey family, some guy in the forum told me we’re getting resilience training this holiday.”
Yeah right, but good luck on some alternate activities and hope they can fix it quick. Try to upgrade the rental car they offer.
