2021 Bolt EV
Here's the car on auto trader.
2021 Premium RWD Standard Range Job1 with 11,500 miles

I'm on the fence with this mostly because of it being standard range. I leased a 2021 Bolt that gets 259 miles range. So I'd be loosing 30 miles range, but the faster DCFC speeds will be nice.

Seller is willing to sell the car through Keysavvy for $25000 (+ $1000 cash on the side) so I will get the $4000 Federal Tax Rebate.
Is this a good price? It's hard to tell what these are actually selling for when people are asking for such high prices.

Is finding a used Mach-E for $25,000 or less with the extended range battery and low miles realistic?

Edit: I put this car into Caravana and they offered $26,800

Sounds like a deal then. For range, it's more than 230. Range is comparable to the Bolt on the highway. The Bolt has more range in the city. I had a Bolt EUV.

considering the super low miles, it makes me wonder if it has been in the dealership service a lot. I would check and see if there are outstanding recalls. It would be good to know:

- make sure the 12v battery is replaced, or be prepared to to it soon, they have been failing right around 36mos regardless of miles driven.

- has the HVBJB physically been replaced, or not yet ? Does your dealership know what that is, and how to check to see if it's been done ?

- any recorded DTC that have not been addressed, or recently cleared, like the infamous front camera fault, etc ?

assuming you have a good local dealership that can check it out, that sounds like a great deal!

Thanks! How are you liking your Mach-E compared to the Bolt EUV?

Not the bad deal. We have not been unhappy with our SR batteries and being pre LFP you get a little better go due to the lesser weight.

Thanks for the info!

I talked to the owner on the phone. It's an older guy who drove it mostly for a short commute. He is selling because he got a Lexus for a comfortable seat :)

I didn't see any recalls when I put the VIN in here: https://www.ford.com/support/recalls-details/

The HVBJB is not part of a recall, is it? Will the dealer possibly replace it for free?

Much better. I had the Premier without SuperCruise. Loving BlueCruise. Interior, exterior, steering feel, performance, and braking better in the Mach-E. Everything inside the Bolt felt cheap. No Homelink, no power rear liftgate.

the RWD Select SR is low on the list for HVBJB recall because not many of the RWD vehicles have failed (since there is only one motor rather than 2 for AWD). It may never fail in this vehicle, but if you drive hard, in hot weather, with lots of 100% throttle and 100% braking back to back... it might fail due to heat build-up in the HighVoltageBatteryJunctionBox section of the battery tray under the car that contains the high-voltage busbars and the main 'contactors' that open and close when you turn the car on.

If it DOES fail, it is covered by the 8yr/100,000 mile electric drivetrain warranty

In your case you would want to make sure that the dealership has installed the software 'recall' that monitors this situation and provides warning rather than sudden failure. If your Dealership doesn't know about the HVBJB recall on Mach-e, and hasn't done any.... find another Dealership that is better trained to support Mach-e before you buy it, them go thru it and check for open recalls and service records as well as do all the software updates and check/replace the 12v battery.

HVBJB recall is not on the RWD/Standard battery. ??

This doesn't really answer your question but what happened to me yesterday. I've only had my used 2021 RWD extended range for 4 months, which I bought for $26,900. Test drove a Venza yesterday- dealer would only give me $18,000 in trade. A loss of $9000 for having owned the Mac-e for 4 months! Deal fell through HAHA

I have 2 21’s std and my wife gets 275 miles on hers and I get 225 on mine (heavy foot and 22’s). Theses cars are great and that’s a great price.. I just got my daughter a Chevy bolt 23 for 18,500 with 12k miles.. I would say our Stangs do better on road trips for sure

There is a IRS $4,000 credit for used EVs 25,000 and under!

Yeah, I’m using Keysavvy as the ā€œonline dealerā€ to still get the credit from a private party sale. They charge $200 in fees. I will also get $7000 in local rebates. So, I’m looking at around $17000 including sales tax and fees.

I drove it today, and I was really impressed. I’ll probably buy it tomorrow.

That’s great to hear you’re getting 225 with a heavy foot and 22’s! I’m excited to go over to the Stang side.

Yeah the back seat of the 21 bolt is rough on road trips. I think the 23 got a bit better.
