Hi, 2023 GT here. So I've been taking longer drives lately and have started using Siri to send/receive text messages while driving. I typically have SXM on and I'm using google maps for navigation. It's 'working', but I'm finding that every time I send a message, the music (from SXM) is muted. To get it back, I have to click on the SXM button in the 'tray' (I don't have to make any changes, just click on it), then I click back on Carplay, then click on Google Maps. Is there a better way to do this without all the clicking? I was hoping that after the message was sent, the music would come back on and that'd be it. Is this a Mach-E limitation, a Carplay limitation, a Siri limitation, or is it the way I'm doing it?

I used to have the same issue then it went away. Now it’s been back for 2-3 weeks. I’m guessing it’s a software that was not properly tested

In some ways that's encouraging, maybe it will get fixed. I only started trying this functionality recently so maybe it was after the last update. Do you think it was a Mach-E update or an iphone update?

When the music is paused, try pushing the Psuse/Play button on the steering wheel. That might resume the music.

I think I've tried that as well as volume controls and station changes. But I'll try again for sure.

oh, the sirius screen won't help me. going to that screen at all is what my issue is. (because then I have to click back to carplay and then back to google maps). I too thought you meant on the steering wheel, which I'd be ok with.

I had a similar issue with android auto and the fm radio app last week. It was annoying. Any voice command to android auto would route me back to aa music, not the fm app.

I usually use a music player in Android auto which plays well with itself, but sometimes local flavor on road trips, right?

Hopefully it was a bug that gets fixed.

Sync - it’s a Microsoft product. It kinda works.
Nope. They got rid of the Microsoft-based Sync back around Sync 3. The current version is built by QNX, a division of BlackBerry. (Yes, THAT BlackBerry)

The word is that Ford is preparing to use the same Google-based system that GM and Volvo/Polestar are on but who knows if/when that actually happens?

I stand corrected. It’s a QNX based product. It’s kinda like a Microsoft product - it kinda works?
